We weren’t sure of staying so outside of Port Townsend but we are really glad we did. This cottage is one row behind the bay front houses, so we thought the view would be minimal at best. However, the view is actually great and pictures don’t do it justice. We sat on the spacious deck to eat, have cocktails , and enjoyed the view and quiet. The beach is also very quiet and we enjoyed taking walks with our dog. The neighbor whose house you pass by to get to the beach is super friendly and has a cute Visla who comes to say hello.
The cottage itself is appointed as well as rentals generally are, with a full kitchen and wares to cook and eat if you wanted to. The place does get warm quickly, but opening up all windows and doors (and thankfully there are screens on the doors too), cools the place down. Although there is a ceiling fan, maybe a box fan would be a good addition to help with the cooling process.
The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious enough with adequate places to keep your things. Water pressure in the shower was good and refillable bottles of shampoo, condo, and body wash were provided. The bathroom fan was very loud and didn’t work very well though.
Location wise, it worked as the town wasn’t too far by car and there are trails nearby to walk on. Just be aware that you’ll have to walk on the busy road to get to them. As we planned to not only wander around Port Townsend, but also go to Heronswood garden, it was a convenient spot to be able to drive
