「was fantastic. Had a lot of character. Was rustic, but had everything you need like heat/ac and wi-fi. The out house was surprisingly nice. Bare essentials for cooking. The neighborhood was pretty empty at the time of our stay, very private. The view was beautiful from the cabin, right on the water..Beautiful stars at night. It was our first time in northern maine, would love to come back.」

「Property, quiet, peaceful, clean, and safe, also well supplied with all needed utensils. We were there in winter though and did not have running water, which was the only inconvenience related to cooking, so did not cook. Shower and toilets in separate building, took a minute to reacquaint oneself with treks outside to the restroom and shower.」

「My Family had a small reunion at Portage Lake. The cabin ended up being the perfect meeting spot. We had dinner there every night. The grill and burners outside were perfect for a clambake and grilling. We sat by the fire pit, with the children fishing, riding bikes and making smores. 「We loved our stay at the cabin! The Hucks hospitality made our stay exceptionally enjoyable! They gave excellent restaurant recommendations and we visited the lake bog they also recommend. We also enjoyed walking through the trails on the property. We were disappointed that oddly we seen no wildlife on the property not even a squirrel or rabbit. We loved our stay and appreciate how the Hucks made our stay so very much enjoyable. 」

「It was just what we needed for our visit. We were traveling for my mother-in-law’s burial at New Sweden Cemetery and this house worked out just perfect. It’s very cozy and had everything you need for the end of your day. If we ever get back to Maine we will definitely use this property again. Beautiful area.」
