“Pleasant staff, clean warm room, well maintained. ”

“Just a warning, the snug is behind the bar owned by the same family. There’s a small driveway at the end of the bar a hairstyle place and some other little shops. The hotel was very quiet and comfortable. The rooms were huge and the bathroom is very nice and all brand new. In the morning we did have some toast and tea and it was nice to have the availability of fruits and vegetables and yogurt and so on for the free breakfast the host was very nice.”

“Victoria was wonderful- the only staff person that I interacted with. She took time to talk about the history of the hotel, and the area. Much appreciated! The hotel room and pool were fabulous. Grounds were lovely. Convenient location. Excellent experience- thank you!”

“Room very dark due to poor lighting. Had chicken red Thai curry in the restaurant however there was large chucks of aubergine which were quite bitter. I have never had a Thai dish with that and wasn’t expecting it. There was an odour from the floor too which wasn’t pleasant. ”

“It is difficult to fault Kilkea Castle as every aspect of the property impressed. The little things therefore matter and small faults in maintenance, which should be dealt with in a luxury property, tend to stand out more. However, that is digging into the fine detail. So, first impressions carried through from first stepping inside with a warm welcome, the engaging housekeeping staff and superbly professional dining/breakfast room staff. On site activities are a nice touch and worth looking at.……
