"Lochsie"
This is well equipped, high end accommodation. A place for those who's time out and creature comforts are important to them.
The kitchen, dining area and living room are open plan, allowing a feeling of space where you can enjoy your complimentary bottle of wine. You are on holiday after all!
The large bathroom has both a bath and seperate shower. You will find a selection of toiletries by Aaran Aromatics, a local boutique company. Feel free to take the "minature" bottles home with you.
A kingsize bed awaits you in the relaxing bedroom, furnished with solid light oak drawers, bedside tables and wardrobe where you will find a toweling robe each.

The property was set in a beautiful very quiet area. The cottage is very clean and comfortable. The only problem I could see for others was it was quite a walk into the town of Portree. It we were out all day so for us it wasn’t a problem.

In need of renovations

Host never responded to messages sent though Vrbo app. The check-in instructions were incorrect so I had to email them directly. When we arrived there were high chairs in boxes sitting just inside the front door. There was black mould in the carpet at the back door and what looks to be mould in the left corner near the ceiling. The floor in the kitchen has sunken and the laminate is cracked. The heat had been off for a while so everything, including the bed sheets were damp and cold. The whole unit smelled musty so we had to run out and purchase air freshening sprays.

Lochsie Cottage was just outside of Portree Isle of Skye. It was in a lovely farm like setting and was very cosy and inviting. We lovely and he spacious living and dining area and the bed was super comfy and warm. The owner Don and his son Ben were helpful and engaging. A great place to stay.

Nice property overall. Back door doesn't lock/secure properly. Overall nice property, however, property needs instructions for washer/dryer and heating system. Coming from a different company and trying to figure these things out was a little frustrating. There was a dog poo the size of Ben Nevis in front of door first 2 days. Someone finally removed it. Overall, as nice as a property you could get for location. Owner did communicate well when we needed help with washer/dryer, however, instructions on how to operate appliances would be more convenient. We would stay there again despite a small few frustrations. The back door not securing/locking needs to be looked at.

Idyllic gem and every comfort

Loved every minute of my stay here. Beautifully appointed. Great towels ( love big towels), incredible kitchen, spacious rooms, lovely garden areas. Loved the washing machine and the detergent pods. Appreciated the wine (but would have strangely preferred milk to make a cup of tea after a long drive… not a complaint, just an observation). Very helpful staff with immediate response to a query for wifi help. Just outside Portree in oeavefulnlocstion with stunning views, but only two minutes to the town. Was sad to leave.

Grundsätzlich gut mit kleinen Problemen

Das Objekt war schön, gut ausgestattet und wunderbar gelegen. Allerdings hatten wir ein massives Ameisen-Problem. Meine Nachricht an die angegebene Tel.Nr. wurde nicht beantwortet, leider. Da wir nur 3 Tage dort waren, hat es uns nicht gestört. Davon abgesehen, hat das Objekt etwas muffig gerochen, was ggf. dem Alter geschuldet war aber der alte Teppich hat es nicht verbessert. Etwas unangenehm, gerade wenn wieder zuhause angekommen, alle Klamotten nach altem Haus muffen.

Great Location

We recently spent a week in the Lochsie Cottage. It is very comfortable, well equipped and was spotlessly clean when we checked in. The cottage is a great location from which to explore the Isle of Skye. It is a very short drive into Portree for groceries or restaurants. We found downtown Portree to be congested with people, cars and insufficient parking so it was nice to get away to the solitude offered by the cottage. If I could make one suggestion to the owners it would be to include in the cottage a binder with operating instructions for the appliances and perhaps a little info about the area (recommended restaurants, etc). We have stayed in a lot of VRBO’s and the appliances in each one are just a little different. While it was fairly easy to figure things out, some instructions would have just made it quicker. Most VRBO’s have such a binder. It’s a small thing but just a nice touch. Overall, we were totally pleased with our accommodations and would certainly recommend Lochsie Cottage to anyone visiting Skye.

Cozy and Comfortable Cottage

This quiet and beautiful cottage is even nicer than it looks in the photographs. We loved the location - just a few minutes from the turnoff to Dunvegan and to Portree. It's right off the main road, but peaceful and has beautiful grounds. The cottage had everything we needed to be comfortable when we weren't out sightseeing. The washer/dryer was much appreciated as this was mid-trip on a long journey. The newly remodeled kitchen was so nice that we ended up cooking every night instead of hassling with reservations at restaurants. We would definitely recommend staying at Lochsie Cottage.

Felt like a home

I recently stayed with my child and baby. It is spacious and clean with everything you would need in a home away from home. The property is just as it appears online, well appointed and comfortable. It has washer/dryer combo, dishwasher, microwave, oven, stove top, fridge with small freezer. The location is quiet and close to town. I loved our stay here.

Perfect little place!

This was a wonderful little place to have all myself. Had everything I needed for my stay. Kitchen was well stocked and made cooking easy! Location is slightly far for walking to town, but would certainly be do-able. Was a very quick drive to all I needed in town, and easy to access places I wanted to see. Had an issue with the washing machine, which was handled in 10 min. Someone quickly came to look at it and gave me an easy option for laundry when it proved to not be reparable during my stay. Can't wait to come back.

Beautiful home a short drive from Portree

Very pleasant stay just south of Portree. Prime location for excursions throughout Skye. Home included all the amenities one would require. This may be typical but we awoke to a handful of very small slugs crawling on the floor and wall. We did not sleep with the windows open so they must have snuck in somehow. A small negative that didn't impact our stay but be on the lookout if you have small children like us.

Fabulous place close to town

Our stay in Lochsie was fantastic! It was clean, spacious, quiet, and only a few minutes drive from Portree. We had one small issue with no hot water but it was quickly resolved by the friendly staff. It contributed to the wonderful time we had for my 50th birthday on gorgeous Isle of Skye! We hope to stay here again during our next visit!
