"This little cottage is within easy distance for day trips to many towns and attractions. It retains an old world charm while providing everything needed for a comfortable stay. As an older couple, we were unable to make use of the bedroom area but we used the bed settee, leaving it made up throughout our stay, and still had plenty of room. The single track roads in the area take a bit of getting used to but are easily negotiated with a bit of patience. Stephanie, the host, was very friendly...

"The host was so accommodating. Our flight was actually canceled and he offered to pick up our friends that day and made them feel so welcome. The property is BETER than the pictures. You are in the center to all of Ireland. Beautiful views … we had sheep out side our door. The house was spotless and had everything you needed and then some. The grounds were also outstanding. "The Derg House was perfect for our stay with lots of space and wonderful views from the house and from the garden. We enjoyed all aspects of the house with seating areas for all types of activities. Around the fire pit in the evenings was an especially lovely time and we saw the Aurora Borealis which was very special. Definitely a prime location for trips and for seeing family in near-by Nenagh. "I spent all of July and August at Sean’s Lodge at Stonepark and I loved every minute of it. The Lodge was fully equipped with everything I could possibly need to have a comfortable stay and Sean was incredibly kind and helpful. The lodge was quiet and in a beautiful country location but only a 20 minute drive to Portumna and a 30 minute drive to Nenagh. I would definitely love to stay at the Lodge again. 10/10"

"The house was lovely, clean, well furnished (in a way that makes you feel like you’re visiting somewhere special), and spacious. We loved waking up in the morning to the spectacular views and returning home after sight seeing to a company friendly kitchen and comfortable living room. The hosts who passed off the keys were an added treat: gave us the inside scoop to get away from more touristy attractions to more local ones, and made us feel like we were friends."

"Denise is a beautiful, friendly, considerate and very welcoming landlady. Her home baked Irish breads are fantastic. We were there ten days and she baked bread for us on three separate days as gifts. Absolutely delicious. We won't hesitate in staying at her beautiful self contained property again. "A fantastic stay made all the better by the lovely Dympna, she was just amazing and professional and went above and beyond - to check in on us and the house. Excellent communication from her pre-check in too and she even messaged to warn us about roadworks in Terryglass. A 5 star service. The house was spotless and well equipped, it’s a very reasonable price for this area."
