“This is a good value room in a pleasant location. The rooms are a little basic but offer good value. Staff are all very helpful especially as we arrived very late.”

“I spent two nights at The Bear Hotel. The room was small but functional; however, the furniture was very tired and badly worn. The paint was peeling and stained in places, as though an old leak had never been properly repaired. The bathroom had also seen better days. Cleanliness was a major issue throughout my stay. The bedside table was covered in dust, and the carpet was disgustingly filthy. Overall, the room felt neglected and in desperate need of refurbishment, along with a much higher……

“Room was TINY. Smelt of toilets and woken by multiple church bells at 5 am. No staff at breakfast time. Cereal and toast. Wouldn’t stay here again. Not worth the money.”

“The room was clean and very convenient as it had an external door to the car park. The room was too hot, not helped by the towel radiator which always on. Not needed when the weather outside was 25⁰C. The staff were welcoming and helpful. We had breakfast in the moving of our departure which set us up for the rest of the day.”

Outside temperature was very high with no options to disperse the heat. Slept no more than 3 hours and decided to check out the next day despite having paid in advance. In short, lovely pub and restaurant but poor accommodation.”
