Location, common areas, and beach were all very nice. The food was not good, which we had heard before going but figured it couldn't be that bad, it was worse. The rooms were spacious but outdated and not the cleanest. All the bathrooms in the rooms and common areas were dirty and smelled, with the worst being the pool bathroom that was overflowing onto the floor. Overall the Location and atmosphere made for a relaxing trip but the rest of the experience was less than desired.

Hello, this review is coming from someone who is currently on the barcelo beach resort. Let me start off by saying I’ve been to a lot of resorts and yes some of the time some things don’t go the vacationers way, I get it. With that let me go ahead and say this is by FAR THE WORSE RESORT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE. The service here has been just absolutely awful, just awful. The staff has been awful and very rude. The food has probably found a way to be even worse than the service. Every single time I’ve ate something that’s not literally bread or rice I get food poisoning (I’ve been sick this whole trip). I will never go back to this resort ever and I advise everyone to stay as far away as possible from this resort unless you want to be sick or deal with awful support staff. I am extremely disappointed in this resort and this is not what anyone deserves after spending their hard earned money to go away on vacation. I was also just locked out of my room for an hour because my card stop working due to the batteries in the door being old. This has been just terrible. Lastly, according to the legitimate manager of the resort leaving a bad review is a threat. I highly suggest they do better then that guy. The phone in our room was never even plugged in, on several occasions I was told someone would come fix it, nobody showed up.

I recently stayed at Barceló Bávaro Beach - Adults Only - All Inclusive, and overall the experience was disappointing. Service was poor—most staff seemed disengaged, especially considering I paid extra for premium service. The food was largely underwhelming, with the exception of La Comedie, where both the food and service were excellent. Premium status did not feel worthwhile. Our room phone didn’t work, and despite multiple requests, it took 3 days to fix. Being told to order room service from the front desk defeated the purpose. We also repeatedly received only two towels for four guests. Rooms on the adults-only side are very outdated. We also had a roach, which we understand can happen, but still added to the experience. At one restaurant, a child vomited on the floor. Despite multiple requests for help, no staff assisted for 15–20 minutes. When someone finally responded, they used paper towels and a broom with no disinfectant—raising sanitation concerns. It was also odd that the only swim-up bar, better restaurants, and premier entertainment/shopping were on the Palace (family) side. Overall, this resort did not meet expectations, and I would not return. (I wish comment section allowed more characters)

We just returned from a 7 day stay at Barcelo Bavero Beach. It is a beautiful resort that has nice pools and a beautiful beach that runs the length of the property. The beach and paths are well maintained and lovely for walking between the Palace and Adults only. Water sports are easily accessible and they did an excellent job at maintaining beach! The buffets had great selection and very fresh. A la carts ok, Mexican was great ! Staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we felt entertainment was weak. The venue was beautiful but under utilized. Having the shows start earlier than 10 pm we think is better planning. We loved the resort and would definitely return.

We stayed at the Barcelo bavro beach adult resort. Our room was very very much outdated. Bath room tiles were plaster terrible and it felt that we were staying in a room dated back in the 1990s. Staff were not friendly. It seems that they didn't really want to be there working. I.am a New Yorker and I tip very handsomely and it didn't make a difference with service. For some reason, they cater to the European which I witnessed they didn't tip at ALL. Food was very terrible and very cold when served.

My stay at Barceló Bávaro Beach – Adults Only All-Inclusive Resort was an exceptional experience from start to finish. What stood out immediately was the genuine warmth of the staff—their smiles, friendliness, and professionalism truly made me feel welcome throughout my entire stay. The beach is absolutely unforgettable: pristine, well-maintained, and with a strong sense of security that allows you to fully relax and enjoy the surroundings. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave. One of the highlights was the incredible variety of food options. The buffet restaurants, including Caribe, La Brisa, and Santa Fe, offered an impressive selection with something for every taste, and the quality was consistently excellent. I also appreciated how convenient everything was. With lounge bars, pool bars, theater bars, sports bars, lobby bars, and coffee spots all located throughout the resort, there was always a great place nearby to relax, grab a drink, or socialize. Overall, this resort delivers a well-rounded, enjoyable experience that I would highly recommend. It’s truly a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable adults-only getaway.
