Food was good, especially at all the ala cart restaurants, service was slow sometimes but the staff were great. The grounds were also beautiful and well maintained especially the lobby area. Beach is really nice, lots of chairs , hammocks palapas etc. pool is massive. Our Expedia conceriege Ruth was lovely as well helped out wherever she could. Spa was also lovely. A few cons- the rooms are dated, humid, and smell a bit. We moved rooms due to cleanliness after the first night. Sometimes it seems the staff at some of the bars are rude or tell you no they don't have stuff until you give them bigger tips. We stayed down by beach but can be a long walk to front lobby , golf carts come to stops every 10-15mins depending on time of day.

The room was clean and well organized. The staff was absolutely amazing, especially Eddie. He took care of spa reservations, and restaurant reservations. If you go to this resort, find Eddie, he will take really good care of you.

NOTE: CONDENSED VERSION OF THE SITUATION. Lack of communication with maintenance. No hot water and AC not working properly for 3 days. Not informed when they would arrive or status of repair afterwards. A security breach occurred on Feb 8th, our fourth night. Strangers entered our suite at 11:30 p.m. while asleep. Fortunately no altercation. Very traumatizing for 2 seniors aged 78 & 79 and one with a heart condition. Night disrupted. Had to attend office 12:30 a.m. (Feb 9th) to reprogram digital room key. No sleep that night. Very dangerous situation over the resort’s negligence. Room door has an electronic dead bolt system allowing entry with key. No separate interior security door lock. Retuned to office 7:30 a.m. (Feb 9th) to file an incident report. Guest services manager will be contacting us on arrival at 9 a.m. No contact. Returned next morning to office for more information. Meeting arranged the next day! NOTE: A few days later we discovered that registration assigned guests to our room in error. Inconvenient meetings with the manager over the next 3 days disrupting our vacation. A courtesy gesture was offered under a release signature by email at 6:56 p.m., 11 February. Check out was in the morning on 12Feb. Two offers were redundant. The other one was a “last minute” added offer for a refund for 2 nights. Responded to email on the 17th. No reply received as at the 20th. Matter is still not reconciled. Note: Food and room service staff was excellent.

Beautiful resort with a clean, calming atmosphere and no bug issues. Rooms were spacious but had very basic (non-smart) TVs. Golf cart drivers were excellent and very helpful. Check-in was inefficient — despite completing online check-in, we waited over 30 minutes and experienced a language barrier. The resort has different “levels” that were never explained, and we were asked to move from the pool area with no signage indicating restrictions, which felt unprofessional and embarrassing. Good variety of restaurants and activities, but reservations were very difficult to secure. Drinks were typical low-quality all-inclusive options, and the main lobby bar was severely understaffed with long waits. The pool was dirty and chairs were impossible to get due to early towel “reservations.” The beach was nice, and the hammocks were great. Service overall was extremely disappointing for a 5-star resort — most staff seemed bothered by requests. The only consistently pleasant staff were the cart drivers.

Although it wasn’t so great at the beginning of my trip and i was aiming to give a 1 star but One of the staff supervisor LUZ MATEO was able to change my mind. Upon my arrival to the hotel i was taken to the level lobby where the staff there was a bit disorganized and had to wait 30 minutes before anyone there knew i was waiting to check in. Next day when going to the general buffet for breakfast i arrived almost at closing time but was able to grab my breakfast and sat down, Only thing i needed was a spoon and a glass of water and after seeing that no one was coming there assist me i approached this lady named ALEJANDRA GIL who said to me (its already closing time and your not even supposed to be sitting here) LIKE WHERE IS YOUR HOSPITALITY THATS NO WAY TO TREAT A GUESS. I had to grab my spoon from an other table and later someone that heard all the commotion brought me the cup of water. LUCKILY later that day i met LUZ MATEO who took the time to hear all of my complaints and made me go from this supposed 5 star hotel a 1 to a 4. Luz mateo went above and beyond to change my starting perspective of this place, she started by helping me with all my bookings to the restaurants and spa to then helping me with my anniversary celebration FREE of cost and even the next day helping me with a late checkout. IN CONCLUSION if it wasn’t for this wonderful employee of theirs LUZ MATEO i would of rated this place a 1 star. PLEASE start hiring people like her who care about the guess.

The resort itself was pure magic. As a wellness, every corner of Meliá radiated peace .It was the kind of place where you could truly exhale and forget about the stress of everyday life. The food? Absolutely delicious we were stuffed and happy after every meal. And the drinks kept flowing, adding to the laid-back, joyful vibe. The entire staff was warm and welcoming, specially Mr. Juan Santos, always driving around in his scooter. Thanks for all your support. Me and my wife are already planning our next visit and crossing our fingers that we’ll get to see you again. If you’re thinking about booking don’t hesitate. Meliá is everything you’re looking for and more.

Meliá punta cana beach en la sección de the level wellness es una experiencia que repetiría sin lugar a dudas. Las personas que nos asistieron durante la estadía fueron muy amables. El upgrade a the level que tiene masajes incluidos todos los días vale la pena. El spa es un espectáculo y todas las masajistas son excelentes. Lo que hace más especial toda la estadía es la comida del restaurante Quimera.Un hotel con jardines bellos bien cuidados y hermosos lugares para tomar fotos espectaculares.

Our stay here was average. If you go, pay extra for the Level. Those guests seemed happier. Expedia perks don’t get you much. Starting with the pros: the beach front area is beautiful with white sand and turquoise water. The spa was very nice with courteous staff and we got a good massage. When we asked to change rooms because the first was musty, they did help us find a room we liked. Now the cons by area. Room: basic like a Holiday Inn, mattress was sloped in the middle and uncomfortable. I woke up in pain each morning. The first room smelled so musty like I was in an old basement. Shower amenities were watered down so plan to bring your own. The tv didn’t work and was never fixed though we asked twice. I asked for extra pillows to try and counter the mattress and only received two extra. After hours of waiting and messaging the staff. And we were supposed to have our own concierge and still had little luck. Grounds: the pool was very cold and dirty. There isn’t a hot tub outside if the spa which you have to be getting a service to use. There is a long path from the lobby to beach/pool area and it smelled like sewage for about 5 min of the 15 minute walk. Food: mediocre buffet. Had to wait awhile to get water and coffee. Reservation restaurants were good but not great. Top shelf liquor is not included. Much of the “hot” food was cold. Staff: most do not speak more than a little English. Many are not friendly and act as if it’s an inconvenience to help you.
