"If we could give more than 5 stars we would. The staff here are so wonderful! Every review I read before we booked this place said the same, and it's true. Ayung Resort is an exceptional property made even better by the truly kind, gentle, competent, helpful, friendly, lovely staff. The food is delicious and the buggy rides to and from our room and the shuttles into Ubud are a bonus, We will definitely come back. Thank you, wonderful Ayung staff! "

"Other than the beauty of the villas it was the little things: 1. Front desk staff took time to research questions they didn’t immediately had an answer to. 2. Staff noticed my mosquito bites on check in so included repellant with my turn down service the next day. 3. Never had I had my feet washed as a welcome. 4. Restaurant staff new our preferences after only one meal. 5. Staff apologized to me when it was my fault I missed a class/activity. There’s more but, go experience it yourself. "

"We enjoyed our stay here very much! It is TOTALLY worth staying here for a day or two. You get first access to saying good morning to the elephants before all the day-trippers arrive, and it's lovely to walk around the park in the evening. We came in Jan/26, so the park was very quiet guest wise. Breakfast and dinners were great (not included for us) and reasonably priced. As for the treatment of the ellies - they are well taken care of and have a much better life than before their arrival to Mason. Please watch the informative video, and talk to the mahouts. They are knowledgable and happy to answer questions! AS OF JAN 25 there are no more elephant rides - which was fine by us!! Just happy to be around such big beautiful gentle creatures. "

As others noted the rooms look a bit old and requires renovation. For example, the aircon in the villa is very loud. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every moment. "
