Pushkar Lake

At one end of the holy lake in Pushkar is the perfect place to see the sunset. There is a Sunset ceremony with drumming it was excellent.At the opposite end you can see the lighted pathway Leading up the mountain to Savitri Temple with great sunrise views.

The sleepy pilgrimage town of Pushkar curls around this holy lake where they say God Brahma dropped a lotus flower. With 52 bathing ghats, the mystical town comes alive in the evening with holy prayers, chants and hymns. This place is also remembered for its famous Camel fair where thousands of the camels converge for the annual festival.

Pushkar Lake is surrounded by 52 bathing ghats (a series of steps leading to the lake), where pilgrims throng in large numbers to take a sacred bath, especially around 'Kartik Poornima' (October–November) when the Pushkar Fair is held. A dip in the sacred lake is believed to cleanse sins and cure skin diseases. Over 500 Hindu temples are situated around the lake precincts.
