“We like old hotels and the Julian is elegant. . The staff was very helpful. We missed not having coffee offered in the lobby. We missed not having 2 chairs in the room but they brought another when we requested it. Temperature in the room was difficult to control. Overall stay was pleasant.”

“I was very surprised that there was not a complementary breakfast. As I was showering in the morning, I found a washcloth hanging over my shower curtain from a previous person’s stay. As this hotel was connected to a casino when I came home Friday evening from visiting my relatives I had to park significantly far away from the front door of the hotel. That was a safety issue for me.”

“Room had damage to walls, loose floor tiles in the bathroom, water damage on the ceiling in the bathroom, and the thermostat did not control the temperature. For 250 a night I would expect the rooms to be taken care of.”

“The hotel seems to be under construction and not up to snuff. There were strange smells immediately in the lobby. The pool was out of order and this was a big disappointment. The sheets were wrinkled as if someone had just used them or they had sat in a wrinkled pile. There was a rip in the curtains. The bathtub drain did not close to seal the tub so I could not take a bath. It was dirty all around the drain. The shower head had pink gunk on it. The lock on the door was broken. After……

“The mattress of the main bed was stained. The sofa bed was miserably uncomfortable, and the mattress had lots of crumbs on it. We had to request sheets and a blanket for this, even though there were three people in the reservation so we should’ve had sheets in the room. There were no cups in the kitchen or bathroom for taking medications or getting a drink of water. One of the tables in the breakfast room was very wobbly, and my father-in-law tried to hang onto it when he stood up and it gave……

“The doors were all broken and just stayed opened. There is no elevator on the property. The breakfast is poor in that it’s just cereal and waffles. The outlet placement in the room is bizarre, like right over the headboard. The manager didn’t even tell us what time breakfast was-I was supposed to read it on the key card. And speaking of key card-it deactivated (which the manager says happens all the time) so we had to run back downstairs, outside and to the front desk. The bed was very hard and……
