「Lots of difficulty here. The room was nice, though no exterior windows. You have to check in before midnight, and the host locks you in from 9:00 PM to 6:30 AM each night (yes, really) due to what she described as dangerous streets. On our 10:30 check in, after almost 12 hours of travel, she fought vociferously with us because we asked to remain on the sidewalk for five minutes to smoke a cigarrete. 「Staff was great, but spoke almost no English. The room was cold, with no temperature control. On my second day the front desk clerk found a portable heater for me.
The worst thing was that the breakfast room and restaurant was on the fourth level and was only accessible via the elevator. The staircase between level two and four was blocked off so that there was no emergency exit and no way down from the restaurant if there was a power interruption–a definite safety hazard!」

「This is an excellent authentic Quito apartment. Offering plenty of space including kitchen it is well located for a stay in Quito. The rooms are clean and its charm really is its traditional feel. However what adds to the excellence is the attention to detail of the Moreno family - they are brilliant.
