Rincon Family was a complete disappointment. I strongly recommend visiting the property before booking, as the photos shown on Expedia did not accurately represent the actual condition and felt extremely misleading. The front desk staff was courteous, but once we entered the rooms, the problems became obvious. One room had a strong sewer-like smell, very dim lighting, and did not feel clean. The second room appeared to have an unfinished or poorly executed bathroom remodel. The toilet and shower overflowed, leaving water on the bathroom floor.
We booked two nights for a family of six, including two adults over 60, a 10 yo, and a 3-year-old. Given the condition of the rooms, we did not feel comfortable or safe staying another night. We contacted Expedia to cancel the second night and were told the hotel could not process. We were offered a credit of less than 50% of the nightly rate.
We ultimately left and forfeited the second night we had already paid for. We explained our concerns and hoped the hotel would at least consider covering the parking cost, but management refused. Most disappointing was the lack of effort from “ownership” to address the situation. Only after seeing our bags packed in the car and hearing that I would leave a negative review did the owner offer another room. By then, our family had already lost confidence in the property and was leaving.
Expedia should review this property and verify that its photos and description accurately show accommodations.
