Cabin nestled in the Pines near Lake Pactola! ATV trails! Mt Rushmore! WI-FI

A-frame cabin features 1,200 square feet of cozy living space. You'll feel miles away In the Black Hills National forest all tucked away in the woods and hidden by towering pine trees.
The cabin is centrally located in the Black Hills of South Dakota, and is a perfect lodging location while visiting Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park, Jewel Cave National Monument, Devil's Tower National Monument, Hill City 1880 Steam Train, Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Historic Deadwood and Rapid Creek fly fishing for browns and rainbows located just below Pactola Reservoir. The cabin is located among the pine trees on Edelweiss Mountain (5800 ft elevation) just twelve miles north of Hill City South Dakota and four switchback country miles off of the Scenic drive of U.S. Highway 385. The cabin is located within minutes of Pactola Lake, the Mickelson Trail, and the Centennial Trail. Situated in a quiet wooded area, the picturesque property is surrounded by acres of pine trees, offering ultimate peace and relaxation.

Approximately 22 miles west of Rapid City, SD. (Airport 14 miles east of Rapid City)
Please note: Three switchback country miles off of U.S. Highway 385 to cabin location.
There is ample parking for vehicles and trailers, so bring your ATV's or rent from one of the many local vendors in Hill City. There are endless ATV/UTV trails right off the property!
Winter access requires AWD or 4WD vehicle

Great spot close to everything the black hills has to offer. 3 miles of gravel takes you to a perfect cabin away from anything busy. Super quiet spot to hangout and enjoy dinners on the deck. The only negative about our stay(and its not the cabins fault) is that the main road that runs in between hill city/keystone area up to deadwood (hwy 385) is going through a major construction project. To get anywhere south of the cabin is a lengthy detour. Definitely added a lot of car time to the trip we weren’t planning on. That being said, fantastic place to spend during your vacation.

A group of ten ladies stayed and had a wonderful time. Cabin is in a very quiet area. Cabin’s kitchen is well stocked with utensils, pans, microwave, coffee pot, stove and dishes. Washer and dryer available. Two bathrooms, with a very small one being upstairs. Can’t be too tall to use the upstairs shower. :) if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of town- this is your place.

We enjoyed staying at your rental. It was everything that was stated in the description plus more. We did get to met a few dogs - they were very sweet - the adults as well as the children enjoyed seeing them on a nightly occurrence. I give you a 150% review rate. Peace and comfort

Our family of adults and teens all enjoyed this peaceful and comfortable cabin. The beds are comfortable, and the space was cozy and great for conversation while allowing room for everyone to spread out. We spent a lot of time on the deck and in our hammocks just outside. It’s close to both Pactola and Sheridan lakes, so our fishermen stayed busy. Everything about our stay went smoothly and we would easily go again.

Great location and home.

Plenty of space for my family of 6. 3 adults, 2 teenagers and three adults. You are in the mountains and you really get the feel of the black hills. Would 100% stay here again. Michael was responsive to all my questions.

Amazing get away!!!

This little house was perfect. we had 4 adults and 5 kids ages 7 to 11. It was off the highway on a windy road, depending what you are looking for. We didnt mind the drive. very close to keystone, hill city, pactola, and lake Sheridan. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Black Hills Family Get Away

“Highly recommend this lovely cabin! It was spotless, well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The beds were extremely comfortable. Excellent communication from the owner- very clear and easy check-in and check-out information. The cabin location is in the center of the Black Hills National Forest and was perfect for our needs and where we planned to go each day. Wi-Fi was excellent. We hope to stay again!”

Black Hills Cabin

Great cabin. Very quiet, clean and convenient to Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore and Deadwood snowmobile trails. This was an amazing cabin in a great location with easy access to all the Black Hills National Forest must-see sites. The cabin was clean and well supplied with plenty of space for our group of 6. Great host with a great response time. Thank you for our stay!

Great cabin!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Deck was perfect for enjoying quiet evenings while grilling as well as morning coffee. Cabin was clean and well stocked with everything we needed - we only had to bring our groceries. We had a question about the internet and the owner responded within minutes.

Very Disappointed

Very dark and dingy! We found blood on the linens!! Dining room table was dirty with syrup. We wanted some fresh air so we tried to open the windows but found they were painted shut. The paint on the deck was chipping off and not very safe. We noticed one of the corners of the deck was rotted and one of the support posts underneath was not even connected to the footing.Needless to say we left after only one night for health and safety reasons. We do not recommend renting this property

Quiet, perfect for a get away

We had a nice stay here! While older, it was enjoyable. The house is located in a quiet area, perfect for folks who like to sit and relax. A paved road instead of dirt was probably the only thing we wanted to be different but it didn't outweigh the other nice things about the house. Thanks again!

Quiet and cozy

Wonderful stay! Everything was as described. The house had all amenities and then some. Comfortable beds and pillows. Very quiet and peaceful. The kids were missing their dog but were greeted on arrival by a couple very sweet and friendly Goldens(must be the neighbors). Even had a doe and her fawn walk right up to the deck where I was enjoying the evening. Thank you for a wonderful last minute vacation!

Very nice out of the way cabin

We very much enjoyed staying here. It is a bit out of the way, but the roads are well maintained. If you want your vacation to include some quiet relaxation this is a great choice. If you like being in the middle of the action maybe not. The cabin is rustic enough to feel like a cabin but modern enough to be comfortable.

Quiet Location

This property was in a lovely location and very quiet. The three of us staying here were all over the age of 60. We found the property very accommodating. The only issue we had was low water pressure when we arrived. The owner was contacted and responded quickly. Even though the water pressure was improved, we quickly learned that water could only be used in one area at a time. We adapted and enjoyed our stay. We were there during the Sturgis Rally but we were quietly tucked away from all of the hustle and bustle, This location is perfect for day trips to all of the Black Hills attractions! One last perk was our daily visits from PAX, the kind neighbor Pat’s golden retriever! As all of us were “dog people” and missing our “fur babies”, PAX was a much enjoyed treat!

Very satisfied with our stay!

Cabin was very nice and clean! Comfy beds! AC worked great! I did read in past reviews about the switchback road on the way up to the cabin and that some people weren’t happy with it…we loved it! Beautiful drive and that was part of the adventure. Take it slow and enjoy drive. Conveniently located between our travels to Deadwood, Mount Rushmore and Custer state park.
