Lovely hotel!

Lovely welcome, large clean and quiet room. Just here for one night for a concert but a lovely hotel and great stay.

A good location for the Englefield Estate

Stayed here for a concert at Englefield Estate which is only a 10 minute drive away. Offroad parking with plenty of spaces. Staff/owners are very welcoming and helpful. Room was spacious, clean, well equipped and on the quiet side of the hotel. Huge radiator which would make the room nice a toasty in the winter. Good size shower room. One complaint is the requirement to order breakfast by 0845 which is a bit early after arriving late the night before from the concert. Breakfast buffet with good selection and good cooked options although somewhat limited. A very enjoyable stay and would book again for a future concert.

Beautiful hotel in a good area. Lovely people working and a very good breakfast. Lovely spacious room with large bathroom. Large bed, very comfortable. Beautifully kept garden. Spacious lounge downstairs available to use.

Great value, location and service.

I found the stay great. The host was very accommodating and I had no issues at all. The bedding throw looked old other than that no issues. The room was very quiet no noises, located few miles to motorways and traffic was not bad either. Breakfast was really good and deathly prepared as I could not fault it. Overall excellent service

The hotel is in very good condition. The breakfast was excellent. The staff / owners were friendly. I arrived in the dark so can't rate the surroundings. There was a small patch on the bathroom door frame which needs to be repaired, that's all.

Traditional Family Run Hotel

Made a refreshing change from the sterile atmosphere of the Hilton. Umar and Nazlee took the time to remember what we like to have for breakfast although I like to mix it up a bit. Umar gave me a choice of rooms. Beautiful gardens to the rear. Reminded me of my Uncle's hotel in the 70's. Lovely building as the photos show.

Pleasant room near to Reading central

Nice welcome by a friendly young man, even carried my bags to the room. The decor of the whole place was what I remember from my grandmother’s house, yet it was clean and tidy - just old. As we’re the bathroom fitting and wall papers. Didn’t eat here, so can’t comment on the food, other than the cooked breakfast looked good as I walked through the dinning room on my way out. Would probably stay there again as reasonably priced.

Nice little place to stay for an overnight stop-over. The staff are very helpful and accommodating, I asked to fill my water bottle from the kitchen and also leave some ice packs in the freezer over night. I stayed in a single room at the back annexe which was quite warm but cosy, the bed was very soft (not to my particular liking) but may suit others. Really nice shower and generally quiet position being at the back of the property away from the road. Very convenient location for where I needed to be early the next day and easy check in/check out. Thank you for having me.

This is how hotels should be run. Owner was an absolute gentleman. Interactions were friendly and relaxed. Breakfast was a delight. Immaculate table settings. Efficient, without losing the British customer service that British hoteliers were once renowned for. this is not old fashioned; it's good customer service. Thank you.

I chose this hotel because of the excellent reviews. Although my stay was adequate and I would certainly stay again if there was few alternative I cannot agree with the 9/10 reviews. The building and interior os old and dome of the decor tired, there was a draft from some of the windows, the room i stayed in was quite small. Additionally, the breakfast was disappointing. However the staff were very friendly and helpful, the bed was really comfortable and overall as i say the stay was adequate for what I needed. My only reason for addressing these points is to balance the 9/10 reviews as i feel these misled me.

Superb hospitality here and the staff were extremely helpful. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet. For those travelling by train, it takes about 25-30mins to walk into the centre of Reading, but is only 10 mins by bus and these are frequent. I stayed here on a work trip. I would have liked a bath to relax into at the end of a long day, but I guess you can't have everything!

Lovely friendly staff, on day one i was too late for the cleaners (my fault entirely), i left the hotel for the day and when i got back, my room had been cleaned. The cleaners must have stayed on especially to clean my room (much appreciated)
