Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: THERE WERE 7 OF US, AND THE ACCOMMODATIONS WERE GREAT.. "The apartment is compact but has everything you could need. It doesn't have a full kitchen but microwave, smallish fridge and mugs, plates etc were plenty for our needs. We were extremely comfortable. It's private too, set in the rear garden of the large property. The hosts have thought of everything and it was a terrific holiday base."

"I rented this property for a big family group vacation and there were many things to love and a few to improve. We absolutely loved the property layout with the number of bedrooms, the separate primary bedroom suite, pool, hot tub, plumeria trees and quiet neighborhood. The property was obviously a former converted family home and it felt updated but still retro in a charming way. It’s a beautiful place with lots of room to hang out communally and relax. What needs improvement are the amenities and some details that should be addressed considering the cost of the place. Note that some of these things were eventually resolved after communication with the host and that was appreciated. However, other things are just fundamental features that I recommend the host invests in for future groups. The resolved items were a lack of sufficient toilet paper, paper towels & laundry pods for the week long stay. The unresolved items were the over flowing trash that wasn’t picked up as scheduled, old stained pillows (inside the covers) & old stained carpet in the living room, as well as a missing toilet paper dispenser in one bathroom. There also wasn’t a coffee grinder or many functional kitchen tools like a full set of measuring spoons, a working ice dispenser & decent chopping knives. One exterior kitchen door also doesn’t lock. I think the host could fix all these things with a minimal investment and for the price they owe it to renters."

"This rental was perfect for us. We traveled with five adult kids and it was a perfect size. The guest house really allowed everyone to find individual space if needed. We loved having our own beach space and access. The houses look pretty basic from the outside but are beautifully renovated on the inside. The beach and Kailua Bay are stunningly beautiful and wonderfully uncrowded. Light sand and turquoise water. We loved walking down to the Kalapuwai Market every day. Loved being walking distance to town. Our two teen girls walked to town every day, loved the boutique shopping. The welcome basket of snacks was lovely. The games are great, we played scrabble every day! The huge television and incredibly comfortable sectional in the main house were perfect for movie nights and World Cup watching. This house is expensive, but it was well worth it and surpassed our expectations. We did ask that the foliage by the beach lanai be trimmed a little more because when sitting down we had no water view. Overall fabulous, I hope to be back."

"The unit was clean and well appointed. Shari is communicative and responsive. Being right on the beach is delightful. The back yard table and chairs were great for sitting in the morning and evening. Kailua Beach is gorgeous, soft, and so mellow! We would love to stay again!"
