A very clean and well-situated bed and breakfast type hotel. Hot water and water pressure are excellent. This is the perfect location from which to explore the city on foot. Even the train station and ferry are walkable by anyone in reasonable condition. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Elena and Alena were awesome. From a great greeting, hearty breakfast, marble floors, huge room, walk to the duomo, waterfront, shopping. Truly the best B&B we have ever stayed in. The ONLY place to consider in Calabria. Trust me, you will be thrilled

This is a lovely building in a great location! Thank you for letting us enter so late. Staying here really made our night great after experiencing a horrible flight delay. We checked in and went out for a bite which was just a few steps away and was a wonderful experience in itself. We slept comfortably and had everything we needed. I hope we can come back to Malta and stay at your lovely hotel again in the near future.

Six stars instead of five!

What a welcome! Our room was a bit small but it had all the essentials--and more! It included a room safe for valuables, a frig, nice shower head, balcony, cleanliness and comfort. More than that, we can not say enough about the kindness of the owner who waited with a taxi to welcome us, even though we botched our train details and were 40 minutes late. Terrific hospitality. Nice breakfast. I give it six stars instead of 5.

We thoroughly enjoyed our perfect stay at Domus Nova! The owner Giuseppe was a fantastic host making us feel welcome as if we were visiting relatives! He graciously carried our luggage up the small flight of stairs and upgraded us to a balcony suite making our stay even more pleasant with a beautiful view of the Strait of Messina/Sicily. Giuseppe was extremely knowledgeable, offered several recommendations to visit around the local area including several attractions in nearby cities and took the time to greet us and check in daily. Every morning the lovely Fryline served us espresso/cappuccino and offered a nice selection of pastries, meat and cheese and the friendly staff thoroughly cleaned our room every morning. The room was clean and spacious with a smart tv, AC, and all the amenities-our rainfall shower was very hot with good water pressure and the bed was very comfortable. The rooms are centrally located in the heart of Reggio behind Corso Garibaldi just minutes from the Centrale train station. Steps from the resort is excellent shopping historical monuments and amazing restaurants. A couple of blocks from the resort is Lungomare, several lovely beaches and restaurants on the water. Out of all the hotels and B&B we stayed at throughout Italy and USA over the years, Domus Nova was more like staying with family (that you actually like!) we can’t wait to return here again!

As we were just passing through, we only stayed at this hotel for one night. The gentleman who checked us in was very kind and helpful. We were concerned about a potential ferry strike the next day, as we were taking the ferry to Sicily, but he assured us that we could ask the morning staff to call the company for us to find out what was going on. The rooms were old and not in the best shape, but it was fine for a night. One of our rooms smelled of stale smoke, but I don't recall if they claimed to be a nonsmoking hotel or not. It was quiet at night and we all had a decent sleep. The breakfast was good, but the morning staff was not as kind as the evening staff. When we asked about the ferry strike, they basically shrugged their shoulders and were of no help. We also had breakfast early and were planning on going for a walk along the waterfront, but were told that we could not leave the hotel unless we were checking out! I've never heard that in my life. When one of us needed a bank, the staff told us where it was and said "you'll be back by 9am." (It was 8:45am.) We did not heed this and ended up going to the bank, going for a nice walk and then stopping for a cappuccino at a local bar. We got back before check out time and checked out with no issue. When we asked if they could call a cab for us, they said it would take at least 15 minutes and that there was only 1 cab in the city that they could call. We risked it and walked to the square and were in a cab within 3 mins.

Really nice room with very friendly owner and a lovely daily breakfast. Room was spacious and clean and all the staff were friendly. Our only concern was the airconditioning which did not cool our room below 28 degrees (although we stayed over in exceptional heat - 40 degrees outside). All in all very good value for money.

Piero was absolutely fantastic! He was waiting for us when our taxi arrived, was the first to greet us with a great breakfast in the morning & made arrangements to make it as simple as possible to leave our luggage after check out so we could tour the town before heading back to Rome. The hotel was a short walk to the square where we found a great little restaurant & a short walk to the Straight. Amazing!

Esperienza molto interessante
