I was assigned a room in separate building in the parking area. There was a bridge from the main hotel to this outside apartment style building but it was also accessible from the parking garage below. It felt very isolated and unsafe for a single female. Transients throughout surrounding area. It was also not ADA compliant, I had to go up 4 or 5 stairs to get to the elevator, the signage was confusing and there was an ederly couple who got lost but had to sit down because they were exhausted from going up and down the steps. The room felt like a closet, very low ceiling (and I’m only 5 ft). The furniture was the only thing slightly updated. They painted over all the chipped and peeling paint, as well as the mold around the shower, but of course that still makes its way through.
I almost forgot to mention, I knew the room was outside when assigned at check-in and I didn’t feel comfortable so I asked for a different room and the only option they gave me was to spend another $300 for an upgrade to be inside the hotel. I figured it couldn’t be that bad so I gave it a chance. I was so wrong. After the exhausting trip to the disgusting room I hauled all my stuff back down and pleaded again for least a slightly better deal because I felt absolutely unsafe. The front desk girl couldn’t care less and was not willing to help. Mind you, this was a gift from my husband, to spend a night away and get a spa day. Not a good experience.
