Outstanding and welcoming

Excellent stay with an incredible host. We could order dinner in advance as we were going to arrive a bit late. They were also flexible with breakfast and, in general, so friendly and welcoming! Dinner was great, breakfast too!

The stay at Hostellerie Sarrasine was more than lovely. The grounds are well kept and beautifully tended. The room was traditional and had modern technology. The best part was the food and service. The Famille Bévy had the most delicious French food; their cook incredible. The Bresse chicken is a must. The wine options phenomenal. The Famille Bévy were accommodating and so very warm to us. Would highly recommend this place for any looking to warm the soul.

Det känns som att stiga ner i en svunnen tid, men vilken elegans! Rysch och pysch ger bara en härlig lyx och tyngd åt hotellet. Övervintrat? Kanske men definitivt en minnesvärd upplevelse! Stort rum med sköna sängar men hade önskat påslakan. middag med en fantastiskt tillagad Bresse Chicken lämnar absolut inget övrigt att önska. En imponerande vinlista och en ostvagn som inte gör någon besviken! Frukosten helt ok men inte de bästa vi ätit för 17,5 €. Känns även lite snopet att inte en vattenflaska ingår, minus för det, Dock i det stora hela en fantastisk upplevelse!

The accommodation was excellent with a very comfortable bed. We ate in the restaurant all three nights of our stay and the quality if the dishes was first class. The owner and his wife provided outstanding customer service.

A must near Macon.

This is such a cosy and welcoming place to stay, and we have been here several times and it never disappoints. Our stays have always been in winter, so drinks before diner in front of large log fire. The decor is traditional and comfortable with a charming dining room and delicious unpretentious food. A must is the slow roasted Bresse chicken, the most wonderful chicken you will ever taste. The husband and wife team are delightful.

Small, family-run hotel and restaurant, close to Macon. We had a very comfortable room, with direct access to the courtyard and a few steps to the swimming pool. The food in the restaurant was outstanding and featured locally sourced produce. We enjoyed excellent, friendly service. Highly recommended.

Very nice, comfortable place. Unfortunately, we did not know in advance that their kitchen was closed on the night that we arrived. We found a nice restaurant, but had a difficult time getting a cab back to the hotel.

An oasis of cosy, comfortable ambience.

We have stayed here before and once again thoroughly enjoyed staying in this unique environment. This is a very cosy and comfortable hotel with an emphasis on personal service. We love the garden area and would have tried the immaculately maintained swimming pool but unfortunately ran out of time. We love the ambience of the restaurant but the food seemed to emphasise an over reliance on high cholesterol fats which we both need to control. Otherwise an excellent stopover on our way south.

Sehr individuelle, aber gediegene Ausstattung insgesamt. Persönliche Wahrnehmung durch die Verantwortlichen. Preise für Übernachtung, Frühstück und das gute Abendessen insgesamt könnten auch für französische Verhältnisse - etwas moderater sein.

A Real Find!

Only a few minutes from the autoroute (just off the Macon bypass) and tucked away in a quiet (and VERY unprepossessing) village - the Hostellerie Sarrasine is the sort of place you can only find in France. We stayed as a family of three. Our room had an abundance of maiden aunt-type furnishings - and (to my delight!) the beds had proper blankets and coverlets/quilts. The bathroom (complete with bidet) was completely separate from a small room with a commode. Both could be closed off from the spacious and wooden-beamed bedchamber. We had dinner and breakfast. Both were delicious - and local specialties were served at both meals. A vegetarian dinner menu is available, as were several organic, "green", etc...choices. In our party, both adults opted for the famous Bresse chicken - it was lovely. Our young son was treated very kindly by the patronne, and he gobbled down his Burgundy snails. Breakfast was really a rather remarkable spread - and we were also offered a fresh omelet. We arrived on a cold autumn night, and to have both dinner and breakfast in front of roaring, well-tended fires was a special treat. On arrival, we noticed the (small, outdoor) pool - and while it was immaculate, the cold weather put paid to my swimming plans. The hotel is owned by a charming (and tri-lingual) Franco-German family. We mostly conversed in French, but other guests were served in perfect German (the patronne is German) and flawless English.

Toppenhotell, fin trädgård, utmärkt service. Rekommenderas verkligen. Gammaldags stil men rent och fint. Jättegod mat i restaurangen. Vi var på genomresa och hotellet låg bara fem minuter från motorvägen i en liten ort.

Très jolie ferme rénovée, personnel charmant

Nous avons passé deux nuits dans cette ferme rénovée du XVIII siècle. Le personnel est absolument charmant. Les chambres ont beaucoup de cachet, avec des décorations à l'ancienne (mais pas vieillot, on est vraiment sur de beaux meubles anciens, de la toile de Jouy...), poutres apparentes dans les chambres, dans les couloirs... Un superbe endroit. Vu l'âge de la maison j'avais un peu peur sur l'alimentation en eau chaude pour al douche, mais aucun soucis à signaler de ce côté (eau chaude en abondance, bon débit). Petit dej au top, ainsi que le restaurant le soir qui sert une très bonne cuisine bressane. Les extérieurs sont extrêmement bien entretenus, ce fut un plaisir que de prendre une chaise longue et profiter du soleil, entourée du bruit des oiseaux, de l'âne (!) et des moutons (!!) (mais qui e nous ont absolument pas empêchés de dormir). Bref, un bel hôtel de charme, et un séjour très reposant.
