The property itself is gorgeous and the rooms have stunning views. However, the beds are horribly uncomfortable and because they have no a/c the rooms get very hot. The only way to cool the room down is to sleep with the balcony door open, but, as the hotel is right along a busy highway, you’re then stuck listening to semis driving by all night long.
There is a games room attached to the pool area that was quite fun, including table tennis and indoor hopscotch. The pool itself is in much need of attention. There is a layer of grime on the tiles around the pool, and there are a handful of tiles missing from a section of the pool.
The ghost town was by far our favourite thing about the property. With so much to explore and read about, you could easily spend a few hours walking the town.
The restaurant has something for everyone and the food was pretty good.
Overall, we are glad we stayed a night to give the impressive-looking hotel a try; although, we would not be quick to stay again due to the uncomfortable beds, hot or loud rooms, and the cleanliness really needs work.
