「nice view but the room is not clean」

「This hotel is located right on the Douro, in a picturesque spot. There's a parking area right outside. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel claims to be four star; it may have been once but it no longer is. The rooms are spartan. A 20" tv from the 2000s. No amenities whatsoever in the bathroom, which had a broken wall shower and between one and three lights randomly working, depending on I know what. I had to move furniture to find the only single wall outlet close to the bed....

「This is an unbelievable place. We have stayed in lots of different places across the world but you would do well to find a more relaxing, beautiful and unique place. The breakfasts were lovely, overlooking the valley. We loved the pool area too. The accomodation itself was spacious and had everything you needed. A special shout out to the staff too who make this such a special place. Definitely make sure you order a picnic too! Thank you for a great stay」

「For context, we stayed here as part of our honeymoon in Portugal, and it was by far the best place we stayed. The design of the hotel was beautiful. Everywhere you looked, there were fantastic views of the Douro River and surrounding hills framed by massive windows. The facilities were amazing. 「We booked this stay last minute when another set of plans fell through. It ended up being a fantastic decision. The grounds were beautiful, the pool was great, the food was incredible, and the rooms were very comfortable. The host was excellent, going above and beyond with everything! Honestly one of the nicest people I've come across. I would highly recommend this place.」
