I was drawn to this property because it was new and the modern design appealed to me. I’d hoped to cook a meal while I was there so the kitchenette was a plus, and I was able to make popcorn and keep my drinks, produce and dairy fresh in the full size fridge.
The apartment was exceptionally clean and well kept (an absolute priority for me). I’d describe it by likening it to my Mini: lots of features ingeniously packed into a small space to give you everything you need and make it feel larger than it is! Access was simple, but be prepared to climb a very long flight of stairs (fortunately I had my 25 YO son with me to carry my bag which was packed for a 2-week trip and rather heavy)! Also, be advised to use the wonderfully thick and cushiony mattress topper or you will not be comfortable—the topper is a tri-fold and super easy to unzip from its storage bag and put on the bed, then fold up and stow away in the morning. Definitely worth the effort!
My only disappointment was the neighborhood. I’m not familiar with Richmond and the listing led me to believe there would be lots to do in the neighborhood, but it’s essentially residential and a dead zone. You have to drive everywhere, and I wouldn’t feel safe walking alone at night. Be that as it may, it suited me perfectly and I would definitely stay there again. Daniil was extremely responsive with all my inquiries and requests. The surprise complimentary bottle of Cab was much appreciated and showed a lot of class on the part of the owner!
