Arrivée prévue tôt le matin, aucun accueil... Avons dû attendre 2h30, seuls... Pas même un verre d'eau.. Hôtel assez vetuste, chambre pas spécialement propre, eau chaude quasi absente. Notre départ a eu lieu à 6h30, dans les mêmes conditions que notre arrivée... Avec en plus, les coups de feu de l'armée qui effectuait une descente dans la favela située juste au dessus de l'hôtel... (La casa Mosquito est au bas d'une favela dite" pacifiée").

An absolute jackpot that felt hidden

A week ago we were reading online reviews, trying to figure out where to stay in massive Rio. It was a 3 night trip before traveling on, and we wanted an escape, proximity to the main sights, a beach, and uncover a gem. Jackpot in Casa Mosquito. The owner Benjamin greeted us on arrival, some good juice and a welcome chill out after an 11.5 hour flight from London. The lounge was such a great vibe after the travel. Great sleep, great morning view on the balcony (bested by the rooftop pool and bar where we sunned ourselves without another guest in sight), and then we met Rosa who is full of energy and tips to get the most of your time. Everything she told us fit our mood. So like any amazing stay it’s the base of comfortable amenities topped with personable people who love what they do to make you feel so welcome. When you stay here ask Benjamin or Rosa the history of the place (started 7 years ago now) and it will delight. One more thing. The man who cooks and serves breakfast must be a magician. Every morning something different, light, fresh - it set the bar for simplicity and healthy goodness. We speak no Portuguese so I wonder if he knew how much we loved it. Would stay again in a heartbeat and recommend to anyone. Thank you so much to casa mosquito for such a relaxing first impression of Brazil.

Très beau hotel avec une chambre espacieuse et avec balcon au calme. Vu espectaculaire de la terrase avec piscine. Petit déjeuner un peu inférieur aux attentes et au niveau de l'hotel en général. le petit dejeuner était compris dans notre séjour et on a demandé de l'eau pour découvrir au checkout que l'eau n'était pas compris dans le petit dejeuner. Petit détail qui a manqué un peu de finesse mais le reste du séjour s'est très bien passé.

Very impressive hotel and great rooftop bar

The hotel is very nicely done with great views over the city from the impressive roof top pool and bar. The hotel owners/managers are very helpful and go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. The favela very nearby is not an issue and we felt safe walking to and from this hotel during the day.

Superbe lieu mais des gros points à revoir...

Tres bel hôtel entre copacabana et ipanema, une piscine sur le toit superbe avec une vue à couper le souffle. Grand balcon dans la chambre cependant un sejour assez mitigé surtout à ce tarif (200€ la nuit)... . Alors qu'avec le site il était prévu un règlement à l'arrivée, l'hôtel a écrit par trois fois pour demander un paiement en avance de 50%, puis exiger un règlement en cash ou PayPal n'acceptant pas les règlements par carte bancaire !!! . Un ménage approximatif (photo autour du jaccuzzy extérieur), des draps déchirés qui avaient déjà été recousus (photo aussi pour illustrer) - inadmissible à ce prix . A ce tarif, pas de bouteille d'eau offerte dans la chambre . Un service aimable mais tres amateur et approximatif : on m'a renversé le petit déjeuner (café brûlant compris) sur moi, un verre d'eau réclamé trois fois n'est jamais arrivé, le lendemain on m'a apporté une petite bouteille d'eau mais facturée (à ce tarif ne pas avoir d'eau au petit déjeuner...), le personnel reçoit des extérieurs et n'est pas gêné de passer son temps sur Grindr devant les clients (je précise que nous sommes un d'hommes, juste l'envie d'un service professionnel à minima) - le petit déjeuner ne propose pas d'oeufs, rien de dramatique mais encore une fois à ce tarif... Ce boutique hôtel est absolument charmant mais le cumul de ces détails ont sévèrement altérés notre appréciation

Wunderschönes Hotel für Paare oder Alleinreisende

Ein kleines Juwel in Ipanema. Die Atmosphäre, die Einrichtung, die Lage sind einfach genial. Man fühlt sich nicht als Gast, sondern zu Hause. Das Personal und die Inhaber sind extrem hilfsbereit. Da das Hotel jedoch nur 6 Zimmer hat (weitere 5 sind im Bau) und im offenen, äusserst geschmackvoll eingerichteten Wohn-/Essraum (wunderschön!) eine sehr ruhige, entspannte Atmosphäre herrscht, eignet es sich eher für Paare oder Alleinreisende und weniger für Familien. Auch befindet sich das Hotel an einem Hügel und es müssen einige Treppen bis zum Eingang überwunden werden.

great boutique hotel

little gem in Ipanema. great staff (very polite an always ready to help). you won't feel in a hotel but in a residence. the hotel is conveniently located : 5 minutes from Ipanema tube station, from shops and supermarkets and further 5 minutes from Ipanema beach. Casa Mosquito is also 10 minutes away from the Lagoon. Note that the hotel doesn't allow guests to bring food from outside. But no need to the mini bar and menu are not over priced as in most hotels. Would definitely come back

Little oasis in Rio

The position is perfect easy walk to beaches and restaurants. The hotel is clean and very well presented. Bedrooms are lovely. Staff excellent nothing was too difficult. Breakfast was expensive every thing was itemized. A set price menu would be better. My advise have breakfast down town or near the beach. Perfect place to unwind and relax at the end of the day. Great view of the favelas especially at night.
