We are near skiing and hiking making us a true 4 season destination. This little cabin was built as a storage shed back in the 70’s or somewhere there abouts. It was originally constructed partially over an old tobacco barn foundation. The original barn was built sometime in the 1940’s and was struck by lightning in the 70’s and burned to the ground. 85% of the materials used in the remodeling of what we now call Rustic Ridge was reclaimed materials. Most of the planks and finish lumber Which includes wormy chestnut, ash and cherry wood was salvaged from an old farmhouse that was dismantled on our nearby property. With all new plumbing and electrical you get all the safety and comfort of your own home. The house does not have AC and it is hardly ever needed. Even in the heat of summer the house stays cool being located under a canopy of tall birch, poplar and cherry trees. Heat is provided by electric baseboard and wall heat as well as an electric fireplace. There is plenty of parking directly in front of the cottage and parking is monitored by a security camera for your safety.
