It appears to have a lot of construction going on, stairwells closed for painting, people spray painting in the back parking lot. I really wish it had a pool! It was SO hot while I was there, the pool would have been a nice thing to use instead of staying in the room during off time. I also had to check out on Sunday because of a family emergency and the hotel staff said they couldn’t do anything about having to check out early. Either way it would have been great if I could have been refunded for Sunday night. I had no control over the family emergency (my son was in an accident and is still in the hospital, where I sit and type this.

Our family stayed in 3 rooms at Comfort Inn Roanoke Civic Center, and the experience was disturbing. Despite Do Not Disturb signs and verbally telling the front desk not to enter, hotel staff accessed our rooms multiple times without permission. In my room and another family member’s room, the TV remote had been swapped or tampered with. In another room, a wedding ring was stolen, and a police report was filed. A letter about “artwork installation” was slipped under our doors—but only after rooms were already entered. Even after we asked in person for no one to enter, staff came in again. This hotel showed no respect for privacy or safety. We felt violated and completely ignored. Avoid staying here until they take accountability and change their practices.

I booked a room online for a 2-night stay, but unfortunately had a very negative experience upon arrival. When I questioned the unexpected $500 cash deposit, the night auditor responded in an extremely rude and loud manner. He also made it a point to tell me that I wasn’t allowed any guests and that he would be watching me on the cameras. The whole interaction felt very hostile and uncomfortable. I ultimately chose to cancel my reservation and stay elsewhere. I would not recommend this place based on the way I was treated.

The customer service was amazing. Our trip happened during renovations and how we booked our trip wasn't available for how the renovations were being made and they let us change rooms with no extra charge, that was amazing, but the renovations did wake us up earlier than we wanted. The only really thing I can complain about was the house keeping, I didn't like that they came at 9 every morning. We were just barely waking up and so we only got our room cleaned once. I just wish house keeping didn't happen the first thing in the morning.

Staff were friendly enough but make no mistake, this is a JANKY hotel. Duct tape on the door threshold, really "barely there" breakfast, a closet-sized gym, super expensive pet fee for the quality of the place ($40, should've been $20 at most). They also had the gall to charge Expedia (according to Expedia) $150 a night for this place, which I paid stupidly. Would never recommend this place.

Nice, budget friendly option that could have been a perfect 5 rating but gets taken down to a 4 due to some annoying, unforced errors on the hotel and brand’s part. The good: kind staff, great location, newly renovated, reservation ready on time, nice value for the price as the room was a fine size and clean. The bad: a comically loud bathroom fan and slow draining tub, slow loading wifi that made it practically unusable, disappointing daily cleaning job (didn’t have time to sweep or vacuum for us??) and no pool, even though that was on the listing. It’s a hotel. It was fine.

Our rooms were nice and clean (other than the floors). However, our room door was difficult to close/open due to recent painting, there was no where to get drinking water in the hotel even at breakfast, and our room had no barrier under the door so the ice machine across from our room was very loud. Overall we had a nice stay but the hotel will be much nicer once renovations are complete. Also there is no pool now.
