Only one other couple were present and they were 300 metres in front. I had it basically all to myself. There’s something fulfilling about being surrounded by nature in all its forms. Droplets of water assembled on the leaves, bushes flushed with flowers and lovely even light

The Hoddle Lane property lived up to the photos and descriptions, aside from an in operable Nespresso machine, an unfit BBQ, and unsecured fencing which forced us to do some urgent R&M. "This accommodation had the comfiest bed and pillows my husband and I have ever experienced. I'm also pregnant at the moment so that was a huge thing for me! Someone was always at Reception when we needed them and the bar and restaurant had such amazing food and drinks that made it enjoyable to stay in on a rainy weekend."

"The Robertson Hotel is a sanctuary where the raveled sleeve can be knitted up again :) Beautiful surrounds, friendly, attentive staff, lovely breakfast. My only worry is that its gentle, historical charm will be lost in future development. Sydney needs this kind of retreat from its mass tourism culture."
