「Hotel is very clean and well kept. Breakfast has plenty of options for your basic hotel breakfast. Second time staying here and will definitely choose this place again when visiting the Black Hills area. 」

「We visited the first week in May 2026. The first room they gave us, on the ground floor, had a window with a broken lock. The room also had poor lighting. They moved us to another room on the ground floor. The window locked but the door wouldn’t latch or lock reliably. The third room was fine. One of the staff said they just “took back the hotel” and were getting to know it. It definitely needs maintenance. The hot tub was in a separate building. We didn’t use it. 「The hotel is going through major renovations. Good. Pool is closed with no completion date in site. Not so good. Wasn’t told this until the day before arrival. Ask was is not available before booking.」

「I checked out the three hot tubs while I was there. Two of the tubs had obviously not been maintained for a while. The water was cloudy and gave off a very unpleasant odor. The third tub was mostly empty of water. No soaking for me. The TV was somehow fixed at a certain volume, which I wanted to lower but could not. The mute button was also deactivated. Very frustrating!」

「We got there just as everything was opening. The lodge is clean , comfortable and helpful in showing us where the outside camp kitchen was in order to grill steaks. Sleeping was a little challenging as a bus full of teenagers pulled up and basically ran up and down the halls and stairs all night. Kids will be kids. I was just wondering where are the adults. It was kinda rude and inconsiderate」

「Wonderful friendly staff who had so much knowledge of the history of Deadwood. Had a fantastic time and wish I had stayed longer. Amazing location and fantastic steak restaurant in the bottom of the hotel. Great place to stay and would absolutely come back」

「This is a great older property on the highway as you come into Lead from Deadwood. I used to live in town so .camilair with the property and it's history. They have cabins and rooms. We stayed in a room. It was roomy even with a King size bed, plus had a loveseat, tall dinette, dresser, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Pet friendly property.
