Peaceful wooded couple’s retreat in magnificent Cape Breton. It is situated 30 minutes outside Sydney and 30 minutes to the Cabot Trail.
A one-bedroom cottage with Queen size bed and a double pull out couch. Full-size washer and dryer. Smaller 3 piece bathroom with shower. Large living room dining room combination. Screened porch at the front of the cabin. Wireless internet. No neighbors nearby. The cottage is on a well and septic—forty-gallon hot water tank. Towels and bed linens, cleaning supplies, and laundry detergent are supplied—perfect spot to decompress.
Please note that a herbalist owns the property, and the plants are to be left intact as they are medicinal and foraging plants. This is a naturalist retreat, so our goal is to retain the natural flora and fauna. The property is left to grow to attract wildlife, hummingbirds, and bees, so this property may not be a good fit if this is a concern.
Cape Breton Regional Municipality has recently implemented a 3% “Marketing Levy”, charged to our guests and used to fund a failing tourism website. Local hosts are not pleased about this. There are already a lot of extra fees with each guest booking and we understand the added frustration this brings. If you would like to join our voices and give feedback, you are welcome to email our mayor Amanda McDougall at mayor@cbrm.ns.ca and councilor for our area, Steve Parsons at steveparsons@eskasoni.ca
