Our family had a WONDERFUL time at the Partridge Road Retreat!
Plenty of room (and more to spare) with our family of five: 2 adults and 3 children (ages 3, 8, 10). The lake house was clean and well taken care of inside. Essentials like dishwashing pods, laundry soap, paper products, towels, and shower toiletries were stocked for us. We loved the wood beams and open floor plan. Our youngest loved the outdoorsy décor, especially the moose in one of the bedrooms! The property was gorgeous as well. Plenty of space to park and a huge yard to enjoy. We arrived during a snowstorm, but the property owners made sure to have the drive & walkways clear for us. We used the fire pit, which offers an unmatched view of the lake and mountains. We also played board games on the kitchen table and loved hanging out on the comfy sectional couch. The property owners live next door; they are very friendly and made sure everything went well with our visit. We felt very welcomed! We would have loved to stay longer, maybe forever! We’ll be back to this beautiful place; it was the perfect spot to rest and recharge.

Beautiful winter vacation home
This house is very beautiful and is in a perfect location! It is a little close to another couple homes but there was no issues with that at all. Great atmosphere good neighborhood. It is a very comfortable feeling and home away from home. Enough room for a nice size family and our dogs which is always a must. We loved everything about this place although a few minor hiccups. I like to clean when it comes to animals and kids you have to. There wasn’t really much cleaning supplies which is fine we bought some but the mop is very ragged and tearing apart and didn’t really work. The broom needs to be replaced with a bigger one as the one there is very tiny (for a place with all wooden floors) and the bristles were poking out everywhere making it hard to sweep up dirt. There is a chair at the table that the leg kept coming unscrewed so we didn’t want anyone to use that one and the little foot rest to the rocking chair has a broken leg so we didn’t want to use that either. The only other thing which was the biggest issue for us is the hot water. It didn’t stay hot for long and you have to wait in between showers for everyone to take one as it got very cold very quick. The tub which was a huge excitement for our family was beautiful but you could only fill it about 1/4 of the way before the water got ice cold. Other than these few things everything was great and it was stocked with dishes and pots and pans and as very clean and overall gorgeous. I would definitely stay here again.

The house was a perfect end of summer getaway for our family of 6, and dogs. The scenery is beautiful and the house has everything for a fun filled and relaxing day, including 2 canoes and fire pit. We would absolutely come back!

The house was the perfect fit for our family with a master bedroom on the top floor and another on the bottom floor. This allowed for privacy for both my husband and I and my daughter and her boyfriend. The property was clean and the lakeside view was perfect. The property owners were close by and very attentive.

Wonderful Cottage
I've rented several homes in the Moosehead region and this was by far the best. The home was beautifully situated in a quiet area, with a picturesque view of the sun setting on the opposite end of the lake each evening. My dog loved spending time by the water, and I enjoyed using the lakeside fire pit. Mike and Becky were friendly and attentive hosts. I enjoyed our conversations. I’m looking forward to returning there.

Lovely stay
We had a wonderful time at this lovely lakeside cabin. The lake was still frozen and it was extremely windy and cold during our time there, but we still enjoyed being cooped up inside, especially with the large windows looking out at the lake. We are eager to one day return when the lake is no longer frozen. The house had everything we needed (except for dish soap, but I think that might have been an accidental oversight). The wind was very very loud on the metal roof and at one point the electricity seamlessly switched to the generator, but we still really enjoyed our time cooped up inside. The only suggestion for improvement would be better internet. We couldn't stream anything! We do hope to return soon.

Not the best heat or water
They lie about giving me a refund when the heat stop working. They had give us a space heater and my mom had to sleep on the couch to stay warm the all 3 nights. The first night we froze because the fireplace didn't work. There water doesn't get hot. Definitely wont recommend that place in the winter.

Great Vacation
Beautiful location and stunning views. Two great restaurants to eat at within 15 minutes. We did have a mouse or two to deal with, but it is in the country and it appeared the owners took necessary measures to prevent rodents (traps/bait stations). Downstairs needs a new shower head and it would be nice if the property had a working hair dryer. Without our furry friend, a working hair dryer, a decent screen door and easier to lock doors, this would have been a 5 star. All minor issues that the owners will hopefully address.

Beautiful home at a gorgeous spot!
Very easy checking in, place was immaculate. Plenty of space for our family of four and two dogs. Access to canoes, kayaks, bikes, rafts. WiFi was ok, no cell service in that area. Fine by me! Owners live nearby and are incredibly kind. So much fishing and boating to do in the area but come prepared it’s a solid 35 minutes to a grocery store (gas station with a small convenience store 15 min away). The lake and views are stunning, as is the night sky. Miss it already!

Great spot for exploring the Moosehead Lake region. Clean home with privacy and wonderful lakeside views. Close to Mt Kineo ferry and the golf was spectacular.

Hunting Trip
A friend and I came up to the Rockwood/Jackman area for a bird hunting trip. This house was in a great location to hit all the areas we wanted to. We were able to bring two dogs, though there was a sizable fee and also instructions that we had to clean the house after them. We were unsure what the additional fee was for if we were expected to clean anyways. The beds were great, bathroom fine, and the kitchen made it easy to chat and cook at the same time. The heat source was only one propane heater in the basement, so as the months go on I’m sure it will be chilly. We ended up leaving the door to the basement open so the heat would continue into the rest of the house. It looks like there are plans to put baseboard heaters in, hopefully it can be done soon. We did wake up to mice both mornings (stuck in the kitchen sink and in the trashcan), it didn’t bother us but I’m sure there are some who will not enjoy this. Overall, nice location and a good camp cabin with a ton of parking if you were to bring trailers or a lot of vehicles.

Great place with everything you need. Amazing views of the lake and canoes available to take advantage of it all. Only mark against it is the heat/AC. Listing says there’s a thermostat, but it doesn’t work. And the fan didn’t want to do it was incredibly hot. Owners should fix x these things before being rented out.

Spectacular home on the lake
We enjoyed this home in July. This spot on the lake cannot be beat! The home is clean and well equipped with anything we needed. The views of the lake are breathtaking. We enjoyed the firepit area every night for sunsets and smores. The canoe was perfect for fishing & we brought our own SUP. Water was perfect temp for swimming. TIP: make sure you bring water shoes. The beach area and lake floor is a bit rocky. My family can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful Sunsets -June 2021
This home was a welcome getaway for our family of three plus 2 dogs. The views of the lake were stunning. Note that it's about 30 min from Greenville (restaurants/grocery store/shopping) but the drive didn't bother us since we are familiar with the area and knew we would be in a remote location. The grocery store in Greenville has everything you will need! There is a convenience store/gas station about 10 min away from the house that carries essentials. There were a few issues that we had while we were there. I had planned to cook most of the week given COVID and the distance from town. However, that proved difficult given the condition and limited number of pots/pans. Additionally, the grill was not in usable condition, which was very disappointing. It does not appear to be cleaned on a regular basis. I attempted to clean it twice, but gave up both times (Note I'm not referring to the grill pictured in the listing, they have replaced that one with the one I'm referring to). I would plan to bring your own cookware if you are someone who plans on cooking all week and ask in advance about the grill! The home itself was very comfortable, welcoming and clean. However, when we were there, the sliding door in the basement had been locked by maintenance and was unusable. I'm not sure if this was because it was in process of being repaired or what. It would have been much nicer had it been operable so we could have opened it when were were using the lower level. Additionally, there is a heater in the basement that vents through the wall to the outdoors. On calm days, you can smell the exhaust from the heater when you are sitting on the side of the porch that overlooks the lake, and sometimes even in the living area. This caused us to remain inside with the door shut a couple of times. Thankfully we only had 1-2 days with little or no wind as we wanted to keep the door open most of the time. Lily Bay State Park is appx a 45 min drive from the house. We enjoyed walking the trail there with our dogs. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would return with hopes that these few things will be addressed.

Cozy and Relaxing
This was by far one of the best homes we have ever rented. So much room for my kids to spread out. It had one of the best stocked kitchens I have ever used. I brought many of my own things but did not really have to. We had a great time just getting away and having a change of pace. The downstairs space and air hockey were a big hit with the kids. We experienced a great family time together. Would definitely do it again.

Beautiful place just needs a few updates for future guests
This property was beautiful, with the scenic views sitting right on the lake...it was stunning! Really a cute cabin with a great layout for families. The only problem we had was the lack of communication from the property management. They need to do a better job keeping up the property. We arrived to the cabin with a broken back patio door that didn't lock AND the weather-stripping was completely gone causing a ton of cold air to leak into the house. The heating was definitely not sufficient for the temperatures we had the week of our stay. It was incredibly cold on the main floor with very little heating units, the gas fire place does NOT heat the house enough. My poor kids had to sleep in their sweaters, completely bundled up to stay warm. My suggestion would be to put a space heater in that back bedroom. I tried reaching out via text as the instructions stated on the refrigerator, and received NO response. We had a fire in the fire pit, but first had to try to shovel the snow with a broken shovel and afterwards, cleaned up a bunch of beer cans that were left there from the previous guests. First not sure why people don't clean up their messes and second, the property management should be responsible for that as well. I'm providing this candid feedback in hopes that this is helpful to you and what needs to improve on the property. As a business owner, feedback is important to ensuring return customers/guests. I'd be happy to provide additional feedback and pictures I took of the issues. So for future guests looking to stay, make sure you ask if updates have been made or at least the back door fixed so you don't have to use a chair to keep it closed and locked! I'm sure its a beautiful place to stay in the summer. Not so much in the winter. Sincerely, wish I could have slept better in this beautiful house.

The Perfect Escape
The home was gorgeous and comfortable. Plenty of room to spread out with a bedroom on each of three floors but a very cozy living room and fully equipped kitchen for cooking and sharing time together. The setting is private, right on the lake, with beautiful views. We hope to go back in the summer.

A lovely winter getaway

Winter Wonderland on Brassua
We had a great time staying at the lakefront cabin. The cabin had everything we needed and provided gorgeous views of the lake a mountains. We didn't leave the cabin the entire time and spent much of the time looking at the view and enjoying the fireplace. We would definitely go back again. The post and beams inside were to be admired, and the downstairs was great. We played a lot of air hockey, listened to music and admired the views while we played cribbage. We didn't want to leave this wonderful place!

Beautiful house on quiet lake
Beautiful property, amenities were accurately described and the cabin was warm and clean. Surprisingly well stocked with essentials like coffee filters and dish soap. My only complaint is the dryer had lots of sand in it...not sure why housekeeping wouldn’t have noticed that but otherwise the place was spotless and the view was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope it is available again next season.

Beautiful slice of heaven on Lake Brassua. The sunsets were spectacular. The house was adequately equipped, with the exception of the gas grill which was not functional. So all stove top or oven based cooking. The house did have an issue with ants as well and the refrigerator freezing food. The area was beautiful, we enjoyed the fire pit and dock and surrounding area.

My husband and I have never stayed in a place other than hotels so we weren't sure what to expect but from the moment we pulled up we were so excited and happy to know that this house was exactly like the photos online! It was so immaculately clean, we were very impressed. The dock is right on the water which was amazing for fishing. The yard was great and so private. The entire week was just so peaceful. Also the kitchen was so nice and had almost everything you need to cook a wholesome meal! We decided we will make this our go to spot year after year and one day bring our future children here as well. Also the check in and check out process is such a breeze! I'd recommend this place to anyone that wants to vacation in a private peaceful lake house!
