Relaxing get away on the lake

We stayed a couple nights and really enjoyed it. The home was clean and right on the lake which we loved. Its a short drive in to do a little shopping if you feel like it in Osage Beach. Our hosts were very accomidating and even brought us some wood for our fire one night.

Relaxing getaway

Small, rustic cabin tucked away in a private cove with a dock and a great deck overlooking it all. It was just the place if you want to get offline and get back in touch with nature, peace and quiet. We loved having our dogs with us, drinking coffee on the deck, kayaking in the cove, swimming in lake and just enjoying family time. It had everything we needed. Our host was quick to answer every question. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely cottage on the lake!

Short getaway

The property was a little smaller than expected, but definitely worked for our family of 4. It was a great spot for our dogs, but a little further from restaurants than we expected on steep, curvy roads. Loved it was right on the water and the fire pit was great. The kayaks were great and we were able to fish off the dock. Nice quiet cove, but can’t really see the main channel.

Charming property

This home was a charming little lake house with a unique vintage feel. It had every amenity that we could ask for and more!! Our family enjoyed the kayaks and swimming around the dock. It was so refreshing after hiking at the State Park nearby. It was also nice that a pet friendly property did not feel worn out by too many animals but very welcoming with room to roam. The host was very responsive and very thoughtful of our needs. We would recommend for a quick getaway or longer if you love to be right on the water.

Just okay

First the pros: We really appreciated that we were able to find a pet friendly location without much advanced time. There were no restrictions on the number of dogs or the weight, which is becoming increasingly hard to find. The location was pretty good. We quickly realized how much of a problem parking is in the area, and some of the access roads are quite treacherous. We appreciated that we had room for 2 cars, and the in and out of the road was pretty good. The cove was quiet and more secluded which was nice, we went to other areas that had a lot more boat noise. The cons: It was not very clean. The home is obviously older which we don’t mind, but it really needs a refresh. Some examples of general uncleanliness: The shower had hair stuck to the walls, before anyone in my group had even showered. There was a drawer in the bathroom with a bunch of used bars of soap in it, that’s gross. The kitchen felt cruddy, the drawers were hard to open, under the sink was filthy and messy. The home is small, so a clean and fully functioning kitchen would have been nice. We ended up not cooking or using any of the dishes because the kitchen did not seem at all clean. Access is steep, which we expected, but some general maintenance of the stairs leading to the cabin is needed, weeds growing over the steps made an already narrow path even narrower. I could go on but I won’t. For the amount we paid for 3 nights, we expected at the very least a clean home.

Fabulous vacay with lots of water activities

We had such a wonderful stay here! I just cannot say enough good about it. The property was right on the water (literally 20 steps to the dock), and came with the use of 3 kayaks, a paddle boat, a trolling boat, huge swim mat, life jackets galore, and floats of all kinds. There was also a fire pit and grill available. A huge balcony with table and chairs for 6 provided a pleasant and breezy location to view the lake and observe the dock. Inside was charming and cozy. The ac was phenomenal and offered a cool retreat from the hot summer heat. The bed in the main bedroom was super comfortable. Several tvs throughout, so family could either watch together or have other options (but gotta admit, there was so much to do, we didn't really watch). The bathroom was stocked with shampoo, conditioner, soap, hair dryer, first aid, etc. The kitchen was a huge surprise! Every condiment you could want, at least 20 different spices, multiple types of teas and coffees, oil, dishes, pots and pans, even the makings for smores were provided! What put this place over the top though, was our host Alexia! She was the sweetest, kindest host we've ever had. When she heard one of my furbabbies hurt his foot, she took time to come check him out and fix him up. She was just wonderful! We will 100¾ staying again and I would recommend this place for pretty much anyone. As she mentioned in her listing, there are stairs going down to the cabin, so elderly might struggle, but we all did fine

Happy campers

It was a great weekend in this cozy cabin. We were impressed by all the thoughtful amenities it had to offer. The property is nestled in an ideal kyaking cove. Although the water is a bit cold for this time of year, we'd love to be back in the warmer months. If you're looking for lake front property this is the place. The dock is so close to the house, our dogs had a great time. The property manager was very responsive and made sure we comfortable.

Was a great property, nice, plenty of room. Only complaint would be the flushing of the stool in the mornings, we definitely did not flush any kind of toilet paper or anything else and it clogged up both mornings with light use

Fabulous experience

After booking I got a little worried when I read some of the newest reviews regarding it needing a refresh. I guess it got it! I was thrilled with how nice it was. Very clean. I understand it has a new floor and the bathroom has been remodeled. Location was great for us because we wanted something peaceful and on the water. If you are looking for a place to crash next to a bar this isn’t it. Restaurants and shopping are 10~15 minutes away. Host has a wealth of knowledge and wants you to have a great lake experience. Happily provided suggestions on what to do since it’s off season now. We will be back!

Fabulous

Have been to Lake of the Ozarks several times. This is my new favorite. Even in early winter it is a beautiful setting and love the cabin! Understand that it has been newly refreshed with a new floor in the kitchen, dining, living and bathroom. Bathroom has a new shower and vanity. Very nice and clean! Love that it is on the water.

Overall a great stay!

Great location and beautiful views. The house is located right on the water and is close enough to restaurants and shops! As other reviews stated, the cabin could use a deep clean. The shower and kitchen were particularly dirty. The Keurig machine desperately needs to be descaled. It can only produce a 1/4 cup of coffee. Upon arrival, the paddle boat was missing a rudder, so we didn’t use that. The kayaks were our favorite part! We enjoyed taking them out to explore the cove and beyond. Overall, the property and amenities could use some maintenance, but the location and functioning kayaks made our stay memorable.

Lots of Lake fun from this Property!

The communication with the manager of this property was excellent! We are not lake people and she was eager to make sure we enjoyed the lake property so she came out in person after we contacted her with questions. There were lots of recreational lake items for us to choose from. We really enjoyed viewing the lake from the large deck. The cabin was clean and void of any insects. We had everything we needed. The appliances and fixtures worked perfectly. You should be aware there are quite a few steps from the parking area to the entrance of the home. It was actually good exercise for us but could be a problem if you have trouble with stairs. Most of all we were happy to travel with our dog who loved the lake! The manager is very caring with animals.

This cozy A-Frame did not disappoint

The house was well stocked and as advertised. The dock was more than adequate with all the things docks should have. The proximity to restaurants and grocery stores was very reasonable. Alexia was easy to reach and very accommodating.

Very nice place.

Nice quiet place to get away for a couple days. My brother and I enjoyed the kayaks and the dock and decks to sit on and relax. Definitely a steep stairway getting to the home. Which is mentioned in the description. But very many steps! Ha not a problem for myself and brother, but anyone with mobility issues should be aware. Overall wonderful stay. Thank you!

It was ok

The house was pretty but had a few issues.. The description says central heat when we arrived it was space heats all about, not a big deal but the power system could not handle multiple being used so we got to sleeep the first night with no heat or power to charge our phones. There was a lamp in the kitchen that had a open splice in the wiring (wire spliced not in box and preformed with automotive splices) not a huge deal just unplugged it so I didn’t worry about it the whole time. Overall the house was kinda what I expected but as a electrician the amount of exposed wires, extension cords, and previously mentioned electrical issues scared me pretty good… over all the place just seemed like a old lake house we enjoyed it but will probably look at other houses in the future

Great getaway

We so enjoyed our stay! Our amenities were as stated in the advertisement. Our hostess communicated daily by text about our stay and was readily available to answer questions and replenish items that we were running short on. We enjoyed the area attractions, but also loved spending time at the house. We loved our little get away!

Cozy spot for getting away from it all!

We had a great time on our vacation to this quiet little cove. The house had everything we needed to be able to relax and enjoy our visit. It was rainy the time we were there, so we didn't get to enjoy the kayaks that the owners have supplied for use, but I thought it was wonderful to have them available for their guests. Alexia, our contact for the property, was super friendly, helpful and very responsive. Check in/out was a breeze.
