“The Sloop Inn is in a convenient location to explore the area. The bedroom was small and had too much furniture; the two chairs took up all the space left in the room to move around, open a suitcase. The only power sockets were behind the bed. In order to plug in my phone and other chargers, I had to pull the bed away from the wall about 15cm in a room that was already too small. The bathroom sink light did not work. The staff were great.”

“The 5-night stay was overall comfortable, although there was an issue with controlling the temperature of the hot water shower. It would occasionally become scalding during showers. It would also be wonderful if breakfast could include some fruit. Other than these minor points, it was a delightful stay. When we arrived in the late afternoon, the reception gentleman kindly helped my daughter and me carry our luggage to the room on the 2nd floor.”

“Stayed for two nights as a stop over whilst going homeward. Wanted to have a look around the area. Room was small but adequate. Clean with en-suite shower. Ate in the dining area of the pub both nights and enjoyed the food. Informal but friendly service by all, and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Recommend a walk to the canal and then the walk to Gloucester on the tow path. It’s well paved and flat and about three miles.”

“Loved old architecture”

“Beware if you are thinking about booking their rooms. Telephone attendant have no idea when their reception open/closes. They told us the checkin is open until 12AM and when we reach at 11:30, there was no one - they locked and went home. Their emergency number is another joke, don’t expect anyone will help you in case of emergency at night. We cancelled our trip and went back.”

“Constant noise and heavy fire doors banging until midnight, got woken up by people in the hallway leaving at 6am. The room had a green fire exit light that couldn’t turn off so the room was always lit up even with the other lights off. The lamp in the room was broken. Absolutely no soundproofing anywhere. Plenty of free parking though. Breakfast was included but not a great standard. Bathroom had paint peeling off the windowsills and the shower was slow to drain. There were shower amenities……
