"We left after just 4 hours because the property was nothing like the listing. The photos give a far better impression than the reality. Before arrival, I had to chase the host for check-in instructions as nothing had been sent. Even after calling, I was only given the key safe code. Later that day, after we’d already left, I received an email stating there was a £100 charge per pet, despite the Hotels.com listing clearly advertising “pets go free.” The property appeared to have had only...

"We had a very pleasant stay at this spacious and comfortable home, which was well-suited for our larger group. The garden was a particular highlight, offering ample space and the added delight of fresh fruit to pick. The location is great, being within a short walking distance of the beach and sea (20mins). The property was generally tidy, there were a few spiderwebs which luckily didn't have any spiders. If these were removed it would enhance the experience. Parking proved somewhat challenging...

Elham

"1 3/4 bed, not double although enough space in bedroom for a king size, and I'm sorry to say, the most uncomfortable mattress I've ever experienced. Dead flies and spider webs around the property but otherwise fairly clean. Small TV. Impractical bath, no shower curtain, had to shower crouched in the bath to avoid water spilling over the bath. Bathroom door doesn't shut or gets stuck if managed to close. Muddy parking area. Beautiful property, nicely decorated and lovely area"

Top Rye Hotel Reviews

The Lookout Rye

8/10 Good

"Ideally located close to town. Welcoming staff team. Good selection at Breakfast with both buffet and cooked options . Lovely spacious room but bathroom in need of upgrade. Hotel a little tired, currently redecoration going on. Would stay again."

Camber caravan home from home getaway opposite beautiful sandy beach

8/10 Good

"The caravan was clean, spacious and well equipped, and the holiday park itself was great, with plenty of activities and things to do. However, the location of the caravan was a big downside. It was situated right next to the main road, with the entertainment area and restaurant directly behind it. There was constant noise throughout the night from what sounded like pumps or machinery, as well as traffic noise and people passing the caravan. Early in the morning, the rubbish collection added to the noise. Overall, the caravan itself was lovely and the park had a lot to offer, but unfortunately, the noise made it very difficult to get a good night’s sleep. If you’re planning to stay here, I would definitely recommend bringing earplugs."

Pretty 18th century cottage centrally situated on Mermaid Street in Rye

10/10 Excellent

"What a wonderful home base for my week in Rye and Sussex! From the initial contact, Claire made the process go very smoothly. It was a delight to pop in and out of this lovely house on Mermaid Street when I was exploring locally and a very welcome place to go home to after being away on a day trip. I couldn't believe how quiet the neighborhood (and neighbors) were -- you would never know you are at the center of town. I came to Rye especially to visit Lamb House but my second favorite activity was walking the 7-9 mile loop down along the estuary, past Camber castle, and to the English Channel (on a sunny day). My favorite meal --and there were many-- might just have been having high tea outside at the Cobbles Tea Room. This rental is a true gem and I hope to be lucky enough to come back again."

The Old Borough Arms

10/10 Excellent

"We had a wonderful stay at Old Borough Arms in Rye! Sarah and the team went above and beyond to welcome us and made our stay as comfortable as possible. We loved the charming & cozy setting of the place, with a superb location right at the end of Mermaid Street and few mins walk to the train station. Our room was lovely and homey, exactly the vibe we needed for the weekend. Would highly recommend this beautiful place for any trip to Rye! Thank you Sarah and team again and am sure we'd meet again soon! Tom & Davide"
