Family Vacation

Excellent house for our large family vacation. Plenty of space, lots to do, centrally located in OBX. House offered many amenities. House could use a deep cleaning though.

Great Location

The home was a perfect size for our family of 18. Given Covid-19, the home should have been cleaned better. The glass tops and stainless steel were not cleaned and the floor had sand on them. The home is starting to show its age and needs some TLC. There were loose doorknobs, smoke detectors hanging from the ceiling, ripped couch, mold on bathroom ceiling and toilet paper holders hanging from walls. With that said, this is a beautiful house with plenty of space, nice porch areas, beautiful lighting, and perfect location. This was our first time staying Ocean side and would likely not rent this house again as we prefer sound side. The real estate agent was top notch.

Atlantic Dream Salvo, NC

The house is in a perfect location with ample space for everyone. There were 14 of us and we each had plenty of space to be together or to find a little quiet spot to work or read. The pool is amazing and does get shade in the afternoon. The hot tub was great, although located right next to the public walkway so you are on display to those walking by. This wasn’t a problem because people were so friendly we got to meet some of our neighbors. The cleanliness of the house was a huge problem. The floors were not thoroughly cleaned and the dust on bedside lamps, dresser handles etc. was disgusting. They left brooms out and we found dirty socks on the outdoor sofa and in the theater room. The outdoor space wasn’t cleaned at all. Water bottle caps, tons of sand and other debris was everywhere. The pendant lights in the kitchen were fuzzy with dust. There was a screen that was torn in half on the third level and most, if not all, of the screens had tears. I know that the ocean air is unforgiving with a home that close to it, but this is not damage from this season. We found the closet with one of the HVAC units in it and the filter was so dirty that dust collected on the back of the closet door. The tile in the showers could use a good cleaning. My OCD did kick in and the house was cleaner when we left than when we got there. Despite the lack of cleaning we had an amazing time and the house was perfect for our family. In a quiet neighborhood but close enough to stores and restaurants. And although the house was dusty, the sheets etc. were very clean. I did speak to Robin at Surf or Sound and she was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely rent this house again!
