Samara Reefs is a special place. Views are spectacular. Houses are very private. We saw lots of wildlife, including macaws and howler monkeys. Leoni, the property manager was on time and responsive. Also, the guidebook she provided was helpful in choosing activities and restaurants.

Definitely a 5 star stay! Leonie was an excellent host. We had a fantastic time deep sea fishing, ATV riding, and plenty of beach time. Barrigona beach was our favorite!!! Vilma made us excellent food during our stay. One of the most memorable moments was walking into the house the first time at sunset and seeing the most incredible view. It took our breath away!

Amazing home with breathtaking view. Kitchen fully stocked. We had iguanas coming up to say hi daily. Macaws hung out in the trees and the monkeys were howling, although not as easy to spot. Kids loved the pool as I BBQ'd and drank a Pina Colada. Can't say anything bad about this place. Easy to get in and out of and easy to get into town. Loved it.

Beautiful home with an extraordinary view from the pool and deck area that makes up for some minor issues experienced during the stay. The property manager was responsive and easy to communicate with. If you're looking for a nice house overlooking Samara Beach, then you can't go wrong with this property.

Beautiful property with breath taking views. Inconvenienced by a broken dryer that we were only told about during check in. Found mugs with lipstick on them and bed had sand in it the first night (had not used the sheets yet). The property manager was great about helping set up excursions and answering any questions we had. Loved sitting on the back patio while the storms blew in. Plenty of pots and pans to easily cook in the kitchen.

Costa Rican Paradise

Villa Vista was fabulous, right next to the Macaw House. The Macaws provided ample entertainment for all of us. The pool and house are just how they look in the pictures! We plan to return we loved it so much.

This property is amazing! We enjoyed hanging out in the pool and sitting on the patio in the evenings. The kitchen had everything we could have possibly needed. We walked to the beach, visited the farmers market, and went into town several times for meals and shopping. Leonie made check in and check out very easy and had great suggestions for things to do and places to shop and eat. It was the perfect stay!

We just returned from an incredible trip to Costa Rica, and we couldn't be happier with our stay. The home was absolutely beautiful--immaculate, spacious, and even more stunning than the photos on VRBO. The infinity pool was a dream, and the entire setting was perfect for a truly relaxing and wonderful getaway.From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The thoughtful welcome basket of fresh fruit and local coffee was a lovely touch--we were so grateful for it. Leone our host was warm, helpful, and kind. She also gave us restaurant recommendations, which we tried and every one of them were delicious.We would absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful luxurious escape in Samara. We're already dreaming about coming back!

Incredible Views; Incredible Stay!

My husband and I along with another couple just spent two relaxing week in this lovely property! The ocean view over the infinity pool is one-of-a-kind! The area around the pool, which is surrounded by lovely gardens, and the covered patio lets you stay outside all day. Inside, the main areas are spacious and well laid out. Due to the steepness of the road and traffic, we ended up driving to the beach ( 3 min.) which was easy and there was always parking. More beaches are nearby and the town of Samara is filled with small, local eating places, bars, coffee places and shops.

Perfect vacation!

Beautiful home and love the Samara area. Thanks to Leonie and the property owner for being so responsive and helpful. We got a shuttle to the house from LIR (2 hours) and then rented a golf cart for the week to get around town. Worked out perfectly. If you want to explore beyond Samara and Carrillo though, you'll need a car. It was just the two of us in the house, but there is plenty of room for up to 6 people. The amazing pool and the wall of folding glass doors in the back of the house were our favorite parts. We will definitely be back!

A week in paradise

This was a week long vacation with my husband, our 2 adult boys and their wives. I will never forget the expressions on their faces when they entered the house and saw the view. The house, grounds and pool area are beautiful and the view is simply spectacular. Leonie, was very helpful with recommendations on activities, restaurants, beaches, etc. She truly went out of her way to make our vacation unforgettable.We will definitely come back.

Amazing property

We decided to come back to Costa Rica after 25 years when we came for our honeymoon. We saw this house on VRBO and fell in love with the view. We unfortunately arrived at the house late at night so we weren't able to see it until we woke up in the morning but it was so worth the wait. The photos online do it absolutely no justice. IT IS AMAZING!! We were there in June which is the start of the rainy season so we did get a lot of rain but we also got some beautiful, sunny, days which was plenty. When the sun would come out we would wish for the clouds to come back. Everyone was so accommodating, the owner was very responsive and Leonie provided all of the contacts we needed for our trip. I highly recommend Gerardo with Samara Shuttle to pick you up. He was so helpful and directed us to the best places to shop. If you come on a Saturday go to the Ferria in town, they have the best vegetables and you can also buy souvenirs like jewelry, sauces, wine and coffee. I also recommend renting a golf cart to get back and forth to town and Playa Carillo. We had an amazing time that we will cherish forever. Thank you and we will definitely be back!

Perfect safe location

House was just awesome. Loved the location, grounds and view. If you are researching between Nosara and Samara like I did, choose Samara. Nosara or Guiones Beach is on several dirt roads along the coast with tourist shops and restaurants. Samara is a little town on the beach, paved roads, and surrounded by great beaches and things to do. We loved it and will be back and would pick this same house without question you wont be disappointed. Thanks again Leonie really appreciated you and all your help!

Everything Great

We had a wonderful 6 night stay in mid-February and it was ideal for our family get-away (adult kids and partners). The house is wonderful, well maintained, and plenty of room for everyone. Besides the amazing views of Samara beach and the daily flyby of the macaws, parrots and other birds, we had regular visits from the iguanas, and howler monkeys. The location is quite quiet and a bit of an oasis to unwind after exploring the various beaches around Samara. The pool was outstanding, used a lot and cleaned regularly. Walking to town can be done, but not straightforward - we drove (rental) for dinner, groceries etc. Having Sylvia cook for us a couple of nights was great! Property manager (Leonie) was responsive in advance and made sure we were looked after if any questions. Suggestions for a few things that could be updated for added comfort - primary mattress, beach/pool towels, available beach chairs 6 vs 4. Overall was a great stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Great Getaway

My husband and I needed a get away and this was perfect. The house is very private other than the daily gardener visits. We were able to find a local fisherman and got fresh fish and cooked at the house most nights. Leonie provided a lot of links for places to go and was very responsive.

Simply Amazing!!!

Can’t say enough about this property. Location and amenities were awesome. We woke up every morning to the tropical sounds of Samara…macaws, monkeys (they can be a bit loud) and beautiful vistas. We had a 6-person golf cart for 3 days which was perfect—allowed us to explore Playa Carrillo and go into town for dinner or pick up groceries, etc. We walked to town the first few days via the beach, about a one-mile walk. It is a pretty steep hill to the house but doable. We had Silvia come in two nights to prepare dinner for us—it was fabulous. Leonie was very responsive and easy to work with. Was a wonderful stay and we were sad to leave!
