Our very first time experiencing San Carlos plaza was seven years ago, and our stay was phenomenal. The room we were assigned was tip top condition, from the entrance of the hotel to the room was great. This time, our overall experience was nothing compared to the first time we visited San Carlos Plaza. In the 7 years, unfortunately San Carlos Plaza has deteriorated, from the entrance of the hotel having no AC to the rooms being outdated and not updated as you would expect from a big resort brand. Unfortunately for us, the door did not completely shut and was badly damaged, the primary door lock did not work, our sink was cracked, the caulking inside the bathroom near tub and toilet looked poorly done. The drainage on both bathtub and sink would get extremely clogged. Multiple outlets (not working) the light switches did not work, the lighting was poor, the light shade DISGUSTING! The bedding (white sheets) had multiple yellowing stains, furniture super outdated, on one occasion, I requested a broom to sweep up the sand the kids were bringing up, and when we got our room service, the lady did not pick up the dirt that I had piled up near the side of the wall. Our overall experience, our stay was not the greatest, but the staff are all very kind, polite and professional! Unfortunately for us, we would opt out of staying in San Carlos Plaza in the future.
