This was our first time at an Aloft and we were mostly very impressed. It was super-convenient to the SFO airport for our early morning flight, with prompt free shuttles. The property and the room were sleek and modern. The bed was comfy, the room was big enough, and the bathroom was quite large. The only two things we didn't like were:
1. The bathroom design LOOKS cool, but in terms of practicality, it's not ideal for more than one person in the room. The vanity area is open to the rest of the hotel room, and then there's a sliding barn door style door for the toilet/shower area. It's not quiet to close that door while another person is sleeping. Also, there's no separate light switch for the toilet area, so you have to turn on the big light to use the bathroom during the night and it's bright in the rest of the hotel room.
2. The only other issue we had was loud people in the hallway until quite late. This isn't the hotel's fault, but when one has to be up at 4 am for an early flight, it's pretty annoying. Since this is an airport hotel, you'd think people would be more considerate.
