The hotel itself was fine, and the staff were definitely a highlight - everyone we spoke to on the front desk was polite, friendly and super helpful. We got some great recommendations for places to eat!
Our room felt a little dark and perhaps dated. Perfectly clean on arrival so no issues there. Area felt safe, and we chose it to be away from downtown.
The problem was the outside noise. We were here for 5 nights. Every night without fail around 1am and again around 4.30am there was noise on the street - normally something to do with the homeless raiding bins, or cleaning lorries or bin lorries in the early hours. Not the hotels fault, but when you're jet lagged, having interrupted sleep is the worst. It might be better in other parts of the hotel - perhaps on the inside of the square. We tried earplugs but this didn't really help. Our room faced Beach St.
If the noise wasn't an issue, would be a 4/5 and we'd happily stay there again. If your number one priority is a quiet night, perhaps look elsewhere.
