The property is beautiful but small. The room service menu is the same as the lounge menu, limited food selection. Entrees were disappointing but dessert is good. Location is not the best, I would recommend fairmont instead. I asked for toothpaste and sewing kit during my stay and it was delivered to our room promptly so that was good. We found out during our second night that they broke my daughters retainers while cleaning the room but it was not brought to our attention, we had to find that out the hard when she tried to put them on at night.

Potential guests should be aware of the very steep streets surrounding the hotel. I didn't mind it, but visitors driving who are unfamiliar or uncomfortable with SF's hilly streets might have trouble driving around there, and less physically fit people might have trouble walking to a restaurant etc even down the street.

My wife and I choose The Ritz Carlton San Francisco as our 1 year anniversary and the hospitality was by far unmatched! With their generosity our 4 day stay here was one of our best vacations and most memorable moments. I would recommend anyone visiting San Francisco to stay here as the service will blow you away. Thank you to all that made our stay amazing!

Not handicap accessible except one restaurant. I booked this hotel for my husband's 60th birthday. I called ahead 3 times to make sure everything would be ready the ensured me it would be taken care of.I asked for fridge to be set up in room and delivery to be put in fridge they told me it would be done nothing they promised happened.
