This is a beautiful property in a pretty good location, but it's clear that it's no longer in its prime. I'm told it's changed hands several times over the years, and now it's got a skeleton staff. That said, our room was clean and comfortable enough, the shared areas are really nice, the views are fantastic, and it's a very good deal. You can walk to several good restaurants.

Lovely new experience

The family was friendly and accommodating. Homemade breakfasts were tasty and nicely done. The view from the upper terrace was beautiful. The parking was tricky-- four small car spots inside the gate connected to a short, steep apron, emptying to a busy road Was easy to get to everything. The market, almost next door, had a great selection of fruits and veggies.

Satisfied

It was a good place to stay. Everything was satisfactory. Breakfast was great. Everything was clean. It had the sweet Costa Rica charm we all love. The view was amazing of San Jose. The only complaint was that the TV didn’t really work the best, but only the kids had a problem with that. Traffic around there is a bit rough, but not impossible, and you could walk to restaurants and any shopping you may be interested in if you wanted to. Overall, we are pretty satisfied.

The view was great bu besides that you car ear every single noise surround you the pillows were terrible , the hair dryer wasn’t working and many other things. It’s unbelievable been on such a good area they don’t keep it to the expectations specially for the rate they charge you

We stayed for one night in 3 rooms. We encountered a strong chlorine odor in two of the rooms, and also found hair all over a supposedly clean bed. Additionally, parking is limited to apparently only 2 cars(we were able to fit 2 cars without bothering the spot that already had been taken), and the specific spot we had requested for accessibility reasons during the reservation process was not available upon arrival. Or I'm not sure if the one that was assigned to us was the accessible spot or not. While not necessarily anyone’s fault, we were woken very early, around 5 a.m. or earlier, by two men speaking loudly outside both rooms on the same floor. A designated quiet time, at least until 6 a.m., would be appreciated. Thanks to the office receptionist for the excellent welcome and for clearly explaining the rules and answering all my questions. Thanks to the breakfast waitress who gave us excellent service in the morning.

Great place to stay. Close to anything you need in escazu. There’s a local bus stop directly in front of the hotel that makes it very convenient to get to the Coca Cola bus station easily. The view from the hotel is very beautiful and even better from the 3rd floor area. Will stay here again.

Nothing for breakfast lovers

Simple accommodation for sleeping. For us, breakfast is important and one of the reasons why we chose this hotel. Unfortunately, the breakfast was a disappointment, we had to choose between 3 different choices. We chose Continental which consisted of a few pieces of banana, pineapple and melon as well as a piece of toasted bread with a small pat of butter and a cup of coffee.... Which we were far from full of! To eat more you have to pay...

Overall my experience was very pleasant. My only suggestion is that they show a photo of the entrance. I arrived after dark and like others thought it was a closed down hotel. Thankfully i pulled up the listing and read the reviews while sitting outside and realized i had the correct place and i just needed to ring the bell. But other than that the place was amazing for the value!! I will definitely be back soon.

Don’t let the outside fool you!! It looks like it is shut down/closed. But just go to the door and ring the bell. They will let you in to the most beautiful place. The big door scared the crap out of me. Looks like a haunted house out front but it is just the door that opens at a beautiful palace!
