As is every property in Puerto Rico, its over priced. But its nice, its new, the staff is excellent but the area is just ok. The bathrooms are baths, no room...but overall its very nice. But again, room rates in PR are insane lately.

There’s two 24/7 restaurants across the street that are amazing it was super convenient considering our flight got delayed. We felt very safe thanks to the gated door and check in process, the staff were phenomenal!

The hotel was beautiful and a pleasant surprise. The decor was modern, the rooms were spacious and bed was extremely comfortable, I got a great nights sleep. Staff was friendly and the providing of breakfast was a plus. Plenty options for food as well, as there are restaurants in the hotel as well as walking distance. Rooftop pool and bar are an added bonus; they had great views.

First, I was so excited for this experience since the reviews were all great for the most part. But now I'm convinced that a lot of these resorts are paying for reviews. I'm not even picky, and the level of foolishness we encountered is not acceptable. As other reviews stated, the bathrooms are tiny, tiny, and for a junior suite, that makes no sense. There is very minimal space to put your clothes in. We just left our clothes in the luggage. The so-called continental breakfast is terrible. We ended up always eating out. So keep this in mind if you're on a budget. Room service was ok, they kept leaving us with no towels, which probably meant they were short cause we heard another family complain. Dine-in options were microwaved food with sprinkled decor. The bed was so hard that we ended up getting severe backaches. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 was the front desk communication; they are amazing. Aside from that, nothing else but just a cute spot. They have a lot of potential but drastic changes need to be made.

The hotel and rooms are beautiful, nicely decorated; the area around hotel is walkable with a few coffee spots and dining options; we were also able to walk to the beach and Uber at night to Old San Juan, which is under 10 minutes away. The hotel staff was very accommodating and able to check us in earlier, since we had a flight cancellation.

Front desk and valet parking/porter excellent. Hotel has a great art deco vibe and we loved the location. Close to local restaurants and easy 15-20 walk to Condado beach. Room spacious and well appointed. One niggle is not enough towel hooks in bathroom. Would definitely stay at Don Rafa again.

Don Rafa has a really cool, boutique feel from the moment you walk in. The lobby and common areas are stylish, modern, and thoughtfully designed, with a unique art-deco vibe that makes the place feel more like a design hotel than a typical stay. The breakfast area is pleasant, and overall the property looks clean and well put together. Our room itself was just okay. It was a wheelchair-accessible room on the main floor right beside the front desk, which we hadn’t requested, and it ended up being quite loud because of the constant foot traffic and lobby noise. The elevator was also extremely slow, which made getting around the hotel a bit frustrating. The policies felt unusually strict for a hotel in this price range. There was zero flexibility on late checkout, and early check-in costs $100 USD plus tax, which feels steep. What I found especially strange was a printed list of damage and replacement fees sitting in the drawer beside the bed, itemizing the cost of nearly everything in the room. It gave the stay a slightly uncomfortable, overly monitored feeling rather than a relaxed boutique-hotel experience. Overall, the design and atmosphere are great, but the rigid policies, room placement, slow elevator, and fee list in the room took away from what could have been a much nicer stay.

It was wonderful we ended up having a three bedroom suite. If you were staying for an extended time, the kitchen would have everything you need. The buffet breakfast is delicious. The staff were amazing and hopeful. It was a very convenient walk from the hotel over the bridge to "condado" that had a small beach. We did take an Uber to old San Juan.
