I rent a home on a beach with a pool every year and was excited to visit Puerto Rico! Unfortunately this home is located in a very rough neighborhood and aside from the garage coded gate there is no security. Taking a walk is completely out of the question due to safety concerns. Walk on the beach? That would be a very short walk as the beach is very small and bordered by rocks. Linens and towels are old, appliances and kitchen equipment are old, ceiling on kitchen floor leaks, cracks on most ceilings and walls, views are of a “hotels” rack of kayaks out the kitchen window and the rundown/unsafe neighborhood. You have to lock every door at night which limits access for guests to move around freely at different times of the day and night. Restaurants, entertainment and safely are all about 40 -45 minutes away. You also have to deal with all the stray cats that constantly beg for food outside every door. If you can get past all of this, look past the house in front of your view of the ocean, the neighborhood and the little to no access to stores, entertainment or restaurants then this is the place for you. I have rented several homes in various locations for the past 8 years and have paid very similar (or less) prices per week and this was by far the least accommodating, unsafe disappointing experience. As the host of family vacation and Thanksgiving this was not only embarrassing but highly disappointing.
