Reunion
There were five of us who used to work together and we were looking for a property with a pool that allowed us to gather, but still have some privacy. This property was perfect for our purpose. And a delightful place to stay. We had lovely weather and spent much of our time outside. The deck off the house is roomy with lots of seating options and a firepit. We picked up firewood and enjoyed ending our days around the fire. The pool was also a big hit, again with plenty of seating options. I had my dog with me and she loved the huge yard, with lots of room to run. And the quiet location, away from traffic made me comfortable allowing her the freedom to do so. The kitchen was well stocked with tools, and there is seating both in the kitchen and the dining room. There is also ample room for your food. We had an awesome long weekend together, and would definitely come back. Thank you Liz!!!!

Lovely stay
The Fitz Place was a great location for our family getaway. The house is very roomy and has something for everyone. Our host made sure we had all the information we needed to enjoy the property and was very helpful when we had a couple of questions. I certainly recommend this property.

I booked this home for visiting executives and it was perfect. The property is beautiful. The house is spacious and the beds a very comfortable. I stayed at Fitz Place with some coworkers for a "team bonding" weekend at the end of January. I can't say enough wonderful things about this property. Most of our party had their own bedrooms and bathrooms. The rooms were all beautifully decorated and everyone found their beds to be very comfortable. The host was very friendly and responded to my messages. The grounds and games/activities that were provided to us were amazing, and everyone had a great time. There is a little farm store at the end of the street if you need to run out for milk or other groceries. It's walkable and just a few minutes away. Check in/out was easy and we were allowed to check in a little early, which was very appreciated.. I highly recommend this place.

Great getaway for the entire family
Three generations of our family got together to celebrate our parents' birthday. We all had a great time. This property accommodated us all, from 70 years old to less than a year old. We wish we booked more days. I would strongly recommend this property for a nice weekend away for a large, close group.

Beautiful Farmhouse
A lovely weekend for our family of parents,young adult kids and their friends. The house exterior looked a bit worn like a farmhouse should but interior spaces are really lovely! There were a few problems as is typical with an old home but we were fine dealing with them. The property is huge and we wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy all the amenities. There was even a delicious scent of garlic as the fog burned off in the mornings!

great for reunion
College roommates and their spouses met for a reunion. We loved that there were 6 bedroom and 6 bathrooms, so, everyone could have private space. The communal space was great. Very homey. We barbecued, played bocce ball and laid by the pool. The place is very quiet. The kitchen is well equipped. We would go back again.

Beautiful Property

amazing house
This house had everything we needed! We stayed here with 3 families and loved how the bedrooms were set up with a bathroom in every room. The pool, hot tub, and outside area were wonderful. There was plenty of shade so even though we came in the summer, it never got too hot. The house with stocked with everything we needed and the communication with the host was excellent. Highly recommend this house!

Spacious Country Farmhouse
We were in town for our daughter’s wedding and needed a place to sleep family, stage and prepare for the wedding, and have space to hang out and enjoy the time together. This property delivered in all ways. The house is set up well and we very much enjoyed ourselves. If you’re looking for a shabby chic country farmhouse, this is for you. Communication during the booking, planning, and stay was fabulous. Very convenient for weddings happening at Eagle Ridge Golf Club also! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful home with nice bath, hot tub and pool
A wonderful stay! The pool, hot tub ND bath were great although the hot tub had some jets that didn't work. A beautiful house, the pictures are very accurate to what our stay looked like and Liz was responsive and helpful to a minor electrical issue that, thanks to her, was fixed within moments. Great utilities and appliances, easy temp control and lots of space for a big group. Good location for birding, we saw the semi-rare California Quail in the vineyard out front!

Birthday Weekend
We had such an amazing time. The hot tub was hot and the pool was warm. It was so nice having separate spaces and bathrooms for each couple in our group. We left the kids at home and prepared some really nice meals in the kitchen and dined together at the big dining room table. Would highly recommend and hope to stay there again sometime. Only negative was we were hoping to use the laundry one time but never found the washer/dryer. Had some minor difficulty contacting the host to ask about it. Still had an amazing time!

Perfect house and grounds for a large family gathering.
Our large extended family of 13, ranging in age from 16 months to 85, spent a delightful week at Fitz Place. The 6 bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom, were just right and very convenient. The common areas are spacious and comfortable. The grounds with the heated swimming pool, hot tub, grills, picnic tables, bocce court, huge lawn, and lovely rose garden, all enhanced our enjoyment outdoors. The vineyard setting was charming, and San Martin is located within easy driving distance to various cities, shopping and points of interest. Having the LJB Farm store within walking distance was a special bonus (their freshly picked corn is something we’ll yearn for!). There were a few small issues that can be (and some were) easily fixed. Our host, Liz, was most cordial and helpful, and responded in a timely manner despite being out of the country. Overall, we are happy to give Fitz Place a 5-star ranking.

Family Vacation
Fitz Place offered a very good set up for our recent extended family vacation. There were 12 of us, a couple with mobility issues, and having bedrooms upstairs and down was a big plus. Everyone liked having a bathroom for each couple; and all the various spaces inside and out, gave us areas we could all gather and places we could have some time apart. The location is perfect for day trips to Carmel, Monterey, Santa Cruz and other parts of the Bay area within an hour or less. The kitchen is well supplied with dishes, and cooking utensils. Almost too much regarding pots and pans, and some are not in good shape and should be either more adequately cleaned or removed. We loved the coffee room area and appreciated the owner helping us through some minor problems when we first arrived. The flooring on the first floor could use a more thorough cleaning or be replaced, upstairs flooring is great. This is an ideal property for a family get together or a group of friends traveling together. The rural scenery surrounding the property and the beautiful hills nearby provide lovely views. If you enjoy wine tasting, there are many good wineries close by; some in very nice settings.

Stay away far away from this place!!!
We rented this place to have our family all together during my wedding reception near by and it was the worst choice we could have ever made. This place is filthy and there is a rodent problem in the fields there. Like you can look out and just see the verman jumping up and down! For starters the bed linens aren't cleaned. They specifically instruct you to not change the bed linens and now I understand why! We had not only pet hair but human hair all over the pillows and bedding & sheets! There are dirty pay prints on the bedding additionally. The A/C in the upstairs is completely broken. The air filter is just black! I'm not sure when it was last changed. Maybe a year or two ago! The over hasn't been cleaned and it you try to use it ske will come out of the over from it burning all the dirt that is caked on. The counter tops were all sticky upon our arrival! The refrigerator has a moldy stench and you can't use the ice because it just reaks of mold. On the refrigerator where the water catches from the ice maker has black mold on it. All the dishes are dirty and the diswasher needs to be cleaned as you can see the soap scum on the inside from Lach of cleaning. The floors are just black. We spilled some water and cleaned it up with a paper towel and the paper towel turned black! The shower curtains are not changed regularly as they are full of soap scum. It's just disgusting that this is allowed to be rented in these times with Covid and all and to charge the rates they do ir ridiculous!

Hi Janine: Your review is shocking. It’s surprising I didn’t hear about most of these items until this review. My apologies, if you had reported these items during your stay, I could have looked into it asap and fixed, cleaned anything you were not pleased with. The A/C works I saw you were using it per my Nest app. I have the best professional vacation rental cleaning co cleaning the house. They have over a 100 positive reviews. The rodents you mention are squirrels. Sheets are always washed. The only reason I do not ask guests to remove the sheets is the same reason hotels do not ask you to remove the sheets. Your over the top negative review is shameful. I wish you the best. Liz

Home base for wedding weekend
The Fitz place exceeded our expectations! It was the perfect home base for our daughter’s wedding weekend at the Sycamore Creek Vineyards winery. Our immediate family and bridal party stayed and it was the perfect place to get dressed and do hair/makeup for the wedding. We also hosted a casual brunch the morning after. The grounds are just spectacular and there are so many areas to sit and enjoy: the pool, hot tub, bocce ball court, vineyards, beautiful rose gardens, large patio with plentiful seating. My grandkids were huge fans of the swings too. We can’t thank you enough for making our wedding weekend wonderful by sharing your lovely property! Liz was great to work with too!

Moms' weekend away
This place offered the perfect communal spaces for our group of moms looking to reset ourselves. We had the best time and used every single space, but found ourselves either hanging out poolside or having great conversation and food on the back patio with the hotub and firepit. At sunset, we'd move ourselves to the front porch and enjoyed some wine while watching the sun set through the hills. While there were neighbors, the property really felt private with the lovely landscaping. The rooms all had en suite bathrooms, which was a nice surprise. Overall, the property was really well thought out for hosting groups that wanted both communal and private spaces. We never felt like we were on top of one another. Along with all of that Liz, the proprietor was super communicative. We're looking at our return soon!

Family Celebration
The Fitz Place was everything that we expected. The property has so many unique gathering and sitting areas (including the pool and the bocce court) that we never had to or wanted to leave the premises! The house is plenty spacious with 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. The kitchen and multiple inside dining areas worked well for our large group - 10 adults. The kitchen is supplied with plenty of dishes, glassware, utensils and flower vases. All in all, we would definitely look to stay a The Fitz Place again if a similar occasion comes up.

Wonderful place to relax
Went with some friends for a girls getaway and had a fun and relaxing time! The pool and hot tub were great and the area was quiet and picturesque. Only feedback is that Kitchen windows may need to be sealed from bugs… a bunch of ants invaded my grocery bag within the first hour of arriving. All in all, would definitely stay here again.

Spectacular property
Loved everything about the outside of this place - our grandkids loved the pool and big swing in the front yard. Such a beautiful piece of property! We were overwhelmed with flies inside (hard to prepare food). Lots of dead bugs in window sills. Maybe people before us left all doors open while they were there.

Dream Family Retreat
Dreamy! The property is perfect for a fam getaway looking for quality time, home cooking and nature escapism. Every room has its own bathroom which is key for a large group. Plenty of lounge and eating areas, kitchen is well equipped, plenty of activities and the scenery is beyond beautiful sunrise to sunset. We loved our early morning runs around the neighborhood, yoga by the pool, full moon fire-pit, hot tub and grill, wineries, and many trips to LJB Farms that is steps away. Extra perk, dog friendly! Liz was super attentive and accommodating, Lucio the gatekeeper is also super nice and friendly. We felt at home and coming back for sure!

Great property. Not quite 5 stars.
So this place is amazing as far as location, size, the beauty of outside - I could sit on the porch allll day. The downsides were — There were lots of stains on the carpet, the garbage disposal didn’t work so washing the dishes was disgusting, the grill didn’t work, and there wasn’t a single roll of paper towel. Other than that this place is amazing.

Perfectly lovely & self-contained week of lounging
We were 2 families with 4 with young kids (1 - 6 yrs. old), and were able to spend the whole week enjoying ourselves perfectly in the pool, on the grass, eat outside, and enjoying each other's company. Exactly as we had hoped. This property was perfect for all of those things - the only time anyone ever got in a car was to go grocery shopping. The property is not new; it's generally clean and things work well but the outside could use a coat of paint and several surfaces inside were clearly not given the dustbuster treatment in a while. That said, it really was perfect for us with the small kids - nothing too fragile or easily broken, and well stocked with LOADS of plates, pans, glasses etc. to ensure we didn't run out after a full day of meals with the whole group. Our favorite feature was the industry-grade pool cover that ensured perfect safety once closed up to continue to let the kids roam the property freely with no risk of anyone falling in or getting hurt. All in perfect working condition and easy to navigate. The communications with the owner are easy and quick - full instructions for independent check-in and living were provided, and she's super responsive if any questions do come up. Highly recommend for a local, low-key getaway and would definitely come back to do it all again.

Fantastic Weekend Away
We had an absolutely amazing time at Liz's property. The house is perfect for a group in terms of eating, hanging out, and sleeping. The bedrooms are gorgeous! The pictures of the house are ver accurate, it is as beautiful as it looks. The pool was amazing for the kids. The outdoor space is massive. So many areas to explore and relax in. If you are looking to go away with a group, this is the place to go.

Amazing experience in California!

We had a great time at this property. The outdoors really makes it with a huge lawn, tree swing, pool with pool cover, picnic benches, vineyard setting, etc. The house itself is nice, but a bit dated. Fantastic start to finish!
14 of our extended family spent 5 nights in this beautiful home. Plenty of room for us all to sleep, eat and play together. True to the pictures and descriptions. The communication from Liz well before our stay left no question on how to get there and get in. Mike (property handyman) met us and gave us a quick run down of how everthing works. They let us enjoy the space to ourselves, but also let us know that help was just a call away if we needed it. A real class act and classy property!

Perfect for an offsite

Fitz Place was great!
The obvious perks to this place are all of the activities that are included, but one thing I wanted to point out is how easy it is to communicate with Liz - she's fantastic and is so good about responding to your questions promptly. I also really enjoyed working with Mike, who is our contact during our stay for any troubles we have with the house. We loved this place and will definitely come back when the next opportunity comes up!

Good place. Lots of outdoor space.
Nice place. Clean and well kept. Great outdoor / grass area for kids to run around. Would be a 4.5/5 once the landscaping in the back is completed and all of the pool plumbing is working. 1 of the bedrooms had the laundry in it and was a bit small / cramped with 2 twins, but it was okay since we rented all of the rooms. Would stay there again, once the work in the back is completed.

Wonderful
Beautiful property and plenty of space. We had our wedding party stay there and everyone had a great time! Any thing that needed fixing was fixed asap by Liz and her handy man. I would recommend this property if you're looking for a gorgeous secluded larger house to stay in.

gorgeous house in an idyllic setting
What an incredible home and property! A group of friends and I headed to Liz's place for a weekend retreat and could not have had a more amazing time. Liz was incredibly helpful and available all weekend by text message when needed, but otherwise we had complete privacy. The space is incredibly luxurious yet also cozy. It's a perfect space for a retreat or a family reunion or a wedding :) I would GLADLY come back. Especially to try out that pool on a sunnier day!
