Hotel was just what we needed, the staff at checking was very friendly and helpful, he even had the courtesy of speaking to us in Spanish which was even more helpful. Location was great, not far from downtown, nor the train station. Definitely recommend for a quick getaway.

This location is ideal for visiting the harbor and the downtown areas. It was a quick, beaitiful walk to many nearby areas and a very short drive to most others, like the Mission, Zoo, or other sites.
The rooms were clean and well maintained. We had two rooms and did have temperature regulation problems in one and tv problems in another, so there could be more focus on consistency of experience. The patio was good on paper but there wasnt much of a view and there's very limited privacy. We also had to have keys reset several times even though we tried to avoid having them near phones and wallets, so be prepared to do a couple of resets if staying more than a couple of days.
Overall, we had a good stay and there were just minor conveniences.

The staff were nice and the room was clean. The room had a bad, musty smell. After taking a shower, it was really strong when I opened the door. I would stay again if they removed the old Green carpet to get rid of the smell. Great location as it is walking distance to the water and restaurants.

Staff was very considerate and helpful
We had to leave one night early and they waved the cost for checking out early. They didn't have to do this, so we were very pleased with their pleasant, understanding attitude.

The staff were so helpful, very friendly and welcoming. I loved the room I stayed in. It had most of the amenities I needed. One thing I'd suggest they have in each room is a microwave. I will definitely stay there again.

The location was great. Very close to the harbor, dolphin watching tour boats, walking distance to eateries. The staff held my luggage while I took my tour as I checked out early. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly!

Staff was really friendly I had the room by the street so it was really loud from cars passing. The bed was comfortable and towels were nice and thick the shower gel bottle was empty both days and never refilled. It had and old stale smell, but it looked clean. However, for a 2 star inn it met the standard for a 2 star and I knew I wasn’t staying at a 4 or 5 star hotel. So, I got what I paid for. All, in all it was a pleasant stay. 🙂

Castillo Inn rooms are spacious, clean, and have a Spanish charm with modern amenities. I am a frequent visitor of Santa Barbara and have stayed at the Castillo Inn many years ago more than once. It had been a while since I had stayed here as I do like to try different properties, but after this time I will be back sooner than later. The location is perfect, parking is right in front of the rooms, property is well maintained and rooms are always clean. Castillo Inn is the best.
