This property is exquisite. My room was on the first floor, at my request. In most cases, my room at best faces a parking lot. In this case my room faced a couple of pools. I got to see a child and its mother in the larger pool, a German Shepard type dog exploring a smaller pool or spa, and its owners sitting nearly talking a having breakfast. And the area was filled with plants and statures. Instead of feeling lonely, I was part of a community of people, plants and artwork. Eleanor Hansen

this hotel is our favorite for Santa Barbara weekend getaways! a half a block from the beach = walking distance to the pier and several great restaurants... and it's super cute. pool and hottub area are nice and quiet... lots of statues and plants throughout. staff is friendly and helpful, although front desk isn't manned 24hrs, they are responsive. it's an old building and the decor is antique-ish, but comfortable. definitely recommend!

I booked two nights and was not able to arrive for the first night. I called the hotel and left a message asking them to call me to confirm that they would keep the second night. I also said I was fine with nor refund for the second night. I messaged them the same through Expedia and their website and sent them an e-mail. I received a phone call after midnight on the first day of check in and spent 45 minutes for them to confirm they would keep the second night active. I stay there every year when I go out to see my Retina Specialist and have always had a nice experience, but there is a major gap there with communication. That is why I gave them a 3, although this experience was a 1.

Perfect location steps from beach. 3 minute walk to Amtrak station, restaurants, bars, museums, State St, shopping. Pool, spa, continental breakfast and evening wine and hors douvres, no resort feee or parking fees. So while this is an older hotel, given that we only used it for sleeping and the room was clean, we think this was great value for money compared with other hotels in the same vicinity.

Loved this place! Super cute and homey. Great location and morning staff was great and helpful. Night staff was a little sketchy, complained about my kids going in the pool at 830pm when it was open until 10 but then she left thru the back alley for like an hour.

Waited 50 minutes to get room. Staff was unprofessional, rude customer service, lacked welcoming etiquette. Managers reception lacked food and the breakfast not well stocked, out of everything, plus waffle iron burned waffle as guests used. The iron was old and burnt. Terrible!!!

Pros: Location is excellent and beautiful, walking distance from the beach and restaurants. Room was very spacious, super clean, equipped kitchen, bery impressed, staff was friendly and helpful. Cons: breakfast is very light continental and was okay but no meats such as eggs or sausages, carbs only but maybe because of kitchen in room. The front desk only has 1 computer so it was slow check in and staff walks away or missing or busy. During check out nobody was there and said back in 20 minutes but we had to leave.
