We had a great time at this location. My family and I ( 2 adults, 2 kids under 5 ) all loved the cabin we stayed in. It felt cozy in a way that hotels don't. We loved walking around all the natural area nearby and we got to see so many different species of birds and other critters. They had an activities area where you could play tetherball and badminton and even throw a horseshoe. Our favorite was the communal campfire there we met many people and had great long talks into the night. Can't wait to come back here. Also a great way to save money since you can cook on location and they even have a grill in the back. It has everything a fridge,oven,toaster coffee maker utensils. THIS PLACE IS GREAT!!

Unbelievably beautiful property among the redwoods, adorable red cottage next to a creek! I can't wait to go back. I've told all my friends about this place, and if I was not such an oldie (over 50), I would definitely do an Instagram about it! Charming, quiet and lovely place to stay.

The resort is in a beautiful spot in the woods and right near the San Lorenzo River. The staff are friendly and the check-in was smooth - after direct communication with the resort. We booked the two-bedroom cottage with a loft. Appreciated the full kitchen but do wish the resort would invest in some new towels and blankets. The towels were at least 10 years old as were the blankets and my son said the one on his bed did not smell pleasant. Overall though a great venue and will book again.

We had an excellent time staying here at fern river! The only thing is the floors were a little bit dirty and the listings for (kitchens) is a little bit misleading but overall we had a wonderful time, and would definitely stay again

Beautiful location within walking distance to the state park. There’s a cute little river that runs through the back of the property. The location offers free use of games, volleyball, ping pong, board games, horseshoes and books.

This is a wonderful place to stay. The property is beautiful and peaceful, right near the river, and has an outdoor badminton / volleyball court, tether ball, ping pong table, and lending library of games and books. The kitchen is stocked with basic dishes, cookware, and small appliances. The staff is friendly and helpful.

We loved our stay at Fern River Resort. Tucked beneath the trees, it felt peaceful and fully immersed in nature. Our cabin was clean, cozy, and warm, we lit the fireplace in the evening and unwound after a beautiful train ride through the redwoods. Sitting by the river at dusk was one of those simple, perfect moments you wish you could stretch out a little longer. The location is ideal, just down the road from Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, making it easy to explore while still feeling tucked away. A quiet, grounding place we’d absolutely return to.

The cottage was clean, cozy and absolutely perfect. I stayed in 11A and it was awesome. It had a cabin feel, and a great view of the trees and river. Loved the loft too! I'd stay here again. It was close to town but felt like it was far away in the woods. I loved the fireplace but if I could change one thing, I'd put a hot tub on the deck. A great getaway overall!

Perfect romantic getaway

Fabulous place for a romantic getaway. Very comfy and cozy, very clean and had everything we needed, including a fireplace.
