Staff very nice and friendly. Room was very clean and bed was very comfortable. Coffee and fresh muffins in the morning. Conveniently near downtown and museums. The hotel is a Historical landmark in Santa Paula a must stay if only visiting for the first time or if just passing through.

Nice historic hotel. Could use a little clean up or update in the room I got. Slight foul smell but I guess that's to be expected with older hotels and especially with carpet. Overall nice stay though.

This place is awesome! My bf and I wanted a little weekend getaway and the neighboring towns of Ventura and Santa Barbara were $$$ but then I stumbled upon this place. I did not know its spooky history until after I booked the room lol but what a fun surprise! We stayed in room 208, the John Wayne room. Nothing spooky happened which was ok with us. We enjoyed wandering the hotel and taking photos. We will definitely be back!

We loved this historic hotel for our weekend getaway, we will be back. Only negative was room 210 has a very small shower. We asked the staff and were told every room is unique and most other rooms are not like that.

It was a cool old hotel with a colorful history. Great restoration! My only complaint was that sitting in the lobby on one of their old couches I received several bug bites from something. Took away from my satisfaction with a great room.

This is a historic hotel that is well maintained! Great restaurant in the hotel where non-guests are making reservations to dine there. Very helpful staff. Helping with luggage and questions. Not hiding anywhere. Ready to return there!

The hotel is very cozy and atmospheric. The restaurant is lovely with good food. The restaurant is closed on Tuesday and good restaurants in the downtown are limited. There's not much to do in the town but Ventura and Ojai are both 15 miles away and make great day trips.

It was a lot of fun, and had character. Much more interesting than a cookie cutter motel, and close enough to ventura that we easily got to and back from our boat to the channel island, while providing a much better deal than Ventura hotels. Charming and affordable

Completely enjoyed our stay, fantastic get away with the wife. Was in town for business but this worked out great for us. No previous knowledge of the history of the hotel which was quite an experience. Also was able to enjoy the hot rods that came in to town that day.

Not the best little shampoo and conditioner and soap was from the70’s. No iron in room but I’m sure you could find one. Staff was excellent and hotel was very interesting. Definitely stay again!

The property was what I wanted - old & haunted - however, amenities are a minimum and you can hear everything in rooms when you walk past and inside your own. I liked it tho’ - it was clean and I slept great.
