"We had a wonderful experience celebrating my daughter’s birthday in Rio de Janeiro. She chose the Nacional Hotel for this special occasion, and it truly exceeded our expectations. We especially enjoyed the pool, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive throughout our stay. A special thank you to Diego, who provided exceptional service at all times and made us feel very welcome. My daughter was delighted to find a small birthday cake and a thoughtful greeting note waiting in our room such a lovely surprise that made the celebration even more memorable. "WENT RIGHT BACK WITHON 2 MONTHS!! The staff are ALL STELLAR very hard to say ever, but whomever is hiring knows how to add value to the team. We enjoyed the whatsapp concierge, the breakfast plan is a must. It's unlimited menu items PLUS the buffet. And the food was also, STELLAR. We did eat out most nights, but dinner and lunch room service were again...you know it lol STELLAR. Shower pressure was fierce! Bed was comfy. They had a smart tv and toilet. Lovely bathtub I used the 1st time. A safe, ample closet and cabinet space. The fridge was stocked daily. Flip flops and robe provided in the king ocean front room, i feel like it would be that way all around, or they would provide if asked. And the beach in front of the hotel has an excellent bar that makes REAL drinks...not watered down. Nicely strong. Seriously, I'm here to look at booking again and the app asked for a review. If you have or haven't been to rio and this place comes up in your search, look into it. Also the pool is small as well as the pool sitting area, BUT the view is crazy. Worth a look because it was empty one time we went up there and the other, there was a couple adjacent us. It was still so nice n quiet. But the beach!!"

"There was a huge coachorage in my bathroom and after I hardly killed that oneand couldn’t sleep I saw another one next day. I asked them to change my room and they said they can’t and they don’t have any room. After I insisted so hard they accepted and all of a suddeb there was another room. I know there are coachorages hidden behind bathroom doors wooden pieces, so if you get that kind of room where there is space they can hide you will most likely sleep with one and even see it and scream like I did. God they are huge!!!"

"First off, this is a favela, and it’s amazing. The views are unreal, the space is comfortable, and it’s easy to just stay here all day and not want to leave. That said, it *is* still a favela, so come prepared. If you have multiple bags, use Google Translate to arrange a motorbike or van to get up the hill. Ubers can take a while and often stop running around midnight. My stay was incredible. I didn’t realize breakfast was included every morning, and the family here is so welcoming and kind, above&beyond. On my first day they were having a barbecue and invited me to try traditional foods like maionese and churrasco. Later we went to a bloco party together and they made sure I felt safe the entire time. There are community rules, and the hosts clearly explained where to go and what areas to avoid. I genuinely felt safe and cared for. There’s a strong sense of community here. There are different room types with or without AC. I chose a non AC room. It was a little hot during the day but not unbearable. Pro tip: the rooftop is cooler and doubles as a lounging and viewing deck. I also didn’t know how to turn on the hot water at first, so ask for a quick walkthrough. If you prefer very modern, sturdy bathroom fixtures, this may not be the best fit. This is not something you can experience through a tour. To understand the warmth and daily life of a favela, you have to live in it. If you’re open minded and prepared, this stay is truly special. <3 Thank you for all the hospitality "
