What ruined this rating was the disconnect between the renting owner and the property managers. Hotels.com failed to mention this was a third-party owned apartment within a large residential complex, and so my reservation was not in the system at the front desk. I had to seek help through the app and was given a WhatsApp number, which was largely unresponsive. Following an overnight flight, it took 3 hours to check in! Somehow my name was removed from the system the following day when the second guest arrived and was registered. My access was denied and security summoned. NOT a welcoming experience.
Suggest hotels.com contact the apartment owner (a large multi-unit owner) to devise a much simpler and international traveler friendly registration experience.
