I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was very clean, comfortable, and pleasant. The only thing that could be improved is the breakfast, as there weren’t many options. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely stay here again!

I stayed at Holiday Inn because I had a wedding in Rhode Island. Check in was painless, we were able to check in earlier than expected. Front desk staff were very helpful and had answered any questions we had. The all you can eat breakfast was awesome, and the kitchen was so nice. The hotel was modern, and clean. No complaints at all, except for I wish the outside pool was useable!

If it had been hot like the prior week we might have enjoyed the pool but the water looked like green algae. We like to play a free hands of cards before going to bed but there were no tables and chairs available and we weren't allowed to play in the dining room so we squeezed the console table in our room between the beds and played there. The desk clerk said she had suggested proving some tables in the lounge area for card playing but had no results. The elevator was a little rough and water pressure in the shower and sink quite weak.

The staff was helpful and courteous, which was the one positive aspect of my stay. Unfortunately, the overall experience was poor. The room was not properly cleaned when I checked in, and the bedsheets had not been changed, I found hairs in my bed. Staff did change after request. During my stay, the room was not vacuumed, and basic toiletries such as shower gel wasn’t provided. Overall, the housekeeping and room cleanliness were well below what I would expect from a hotel. I hope the management addresses these issues to improve the experience for future guests.

The Holiday Inn was definitely outdated, although the staff were pleasant, friendly, and accommodating. Unfortunately, the rooms felt old and had a very strong musty odor. Even the shower, towels, and pillowcases had a stale, musty smell. When we arrived home, we noticed that our clothes and even our backpacks had absorbed the same odor. On the positive side, the lobby offered complimentary coffee and tea, and the hotel restaurant, LACONDA, was an absolute hidden gem! It had some of the best Italian food we’ve had outside of the five NYC boroughs. Do not overlook this restaurant—it will not disappoint! This is also where the hotel serves the complimentary continental breakfast included with your stay. As for eating at the restaurants along the Newport marina, we were very disappointed. The food we had there reminded us more of frozen, boxed Arthur Treacher’s-style fish and chips than what we expected from waterfront dining—and it was very pricey for the quality. Overall, the hotel itself could really use some updating and attention to the musty odor, but the wonderful staff and excellent Italian restaurant were definite highlights of our stay at this hotel .
