- Welcome to Kyuka, “vacation” in Japanese, a spacious and relaxing house combining modern convenience with an Asian design influence. From the living room you can see an expansive meadow stretching from a picturesque wooden fence on the hill, past a cypress hedgerow, to a view of waves crashing on the rocks. Separated from the living room is a media room where family members can entertain themselves without disturbing conversation in the larger room. The living room opens onto the deck, where you will find a hot tub, a propane barbeque, and a table for outside dining.
Next to the living room is the large, well-appointed kitchen with granite countertops where several cooks can work at the same time. A breakfast bar adjoins the dining room. All major electrical appliances were updated in 2021. A washer and dryer with an ironing board are available.
On the ground floor, each of the three spacious guest bedrooms has a king-sized bed and private bathroom. The fourth bedroom, upstairs, functions as a multi-purpose room with two twin beds on wooden platforms, a TV, and two huge beanbag chairs for the kids. A bathroom adjoins it, as does a small study which provides a private place if someone needs to work.
Around the corner is the Ohlson Recreation Center and nearby Bluff Trail leading to two adjacent beaches.
Linens are provided in the home but toiletries are not. Children of all ages are welcome..... Pets are not allowed.

Beautiful property, great location
Photos on the listing look great, yet somehow don't do this property justice. The home is beautiful inside and out. Very clean and tidy, with tasteful furnishing and an unbeatable view. Some small nits- they don't provide soap or shampoo in any of the showers. This is very weird but fine if they were more upfront about it.- the property management company has their address mistyped in their welcome email which made picking up the keys a bit frustrating. We drove to the middle of nowhere to discover their mistake.

"Our stay at Sea Ranch was an absolute delight! The Kyuka home was ideal for our multi-family gathering, with a spacious layout that made everyone feel comfortable. The open kitchen, dining room, and living room, along with a cozy side TV room, created a sense of openness and relaxation. We also appreciated the multiple bathrooms, which were convenient for our group.The location was perfect for taking leisurely walks to the bluffs, and the recreation center, pool, and tennis courts were all within easy walking distance. The Japanese-inspired decor throughout the home was tasteful and added to the ambiance.If I have any suggestions, it would be to provide a few extra spa towels and some plasticware for kids (or families with little ones). However, these are just minor details, and overall, we had a wonderful experience. We can't wait to come back and enjoy Sea Ranch again!"

Kyuka was one of two houses we rented for a week over Christmas for 14 family members. It was a perfect spot for all of us to hang out, cook, eat, and play together. We had a Christmas tree and thoroughly enjoyed the incredible ocean views and spectacular waves. The floor plan is a bit of a challenge to get used to but the maze provided for privacy in each of the three master bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and the bath towels were luxurious!! The hot tub has a beautiful view but it's unusually shallow and not great for more than two people. Being so close to the Ohlson Recreation Center was a real plus. We hope to return to Kyuka the next time we return to Sea Ranch.

Kyuka occupies a fine oceanfront lot at the end of an otherwise dense little string of homes on Wild Iris. Unfortunately, the home is not well designed or appointed. The central kitchen forms an obstacle to free flow and disrupts opportunity for great views. The massive peninsula separating the kitchen from the stepped down family room is a monolith with no functional or aesthetic value. Clumsy craft and poor finish selections like 6” high hats from the 80s are evidence that this home was designed and built on a budget. For the same price, much nicer homes can be had in just as good locations.
